I have question I have white wheels and I’m trying to change the colors to gunmetal color does the process the same as the video
Most DIY videos: "First, put your car up on your lift. Then roll over your toolbox with $40K worth of tools." This guy: "We're doing everything by hand!" I love it! Great video.

He used a pressure washer! But he said no power tools. LIES!!! Lol
Another tip is to place the spray cans in warm water before spraying. You get a little more pressure and a little better atomization

Make that hot water. Warm water will cool off faster, therefore not enough time to work with.
Perfect timing! I was getting ready to do this on my curb rashed alloy wheels
Best tutorial I've seen. Straight to the point yet calm in delivery. Cheers,
This was a great tutorial. Just did some Audi wheels yesterday. I didn’t use the exact same products, but your step by step was a perfect guide. They came out incredible! Thanks! 🤙🤙

Your's is the "BEST" instruction on how to do wheels yourself Brilliant...Thanks
Great job, not all of us have a $2000 AUD compressor and $750 AUD spray gun, and the tips you gave are brilliant.
Your knowledge, explanation, way of presenting everything is priceless. Thank you.
I never liked the dark gray color of my Honda Ridgeline rims, so I followed your instructions using Duplicolor silver paint over white primer and clear coated with the 2K clear coat. The tip about using the SprayAway glass cleaner to smooth the surface is genius. I am very pleased with the results. Many thanks!
This is the first video ive seen that specifies the amount of time you wait between paint and clear. And so many more new tips. Finally! Thank you!

The best tutorial I've watched on KZread. Simply awesome. Thank you.
That looks good brother nice job and your getting there on your subscribers nice going God Bless and keep up the good work
Thank you for these videos. This channel is giving me the motivation & confidence to restore my rims sooner than later.
Awesome video. I used to spray can computer cases for mods and a good tip to avoid gritty paint or stippling is to lay the can in some hot water to loosen up all the paint that does not get thoroughly mixed.
Asked for this a while back and you nailed it, thanks! Look forward to more videos!
Best tutorials on KZread hands down!
Just picked up some wheels from my local pick a part. This video was really well timed for me.
Great video as always and full of useful info like tips, drying time, etc! I wanted to know how much of each product you did use and I found that it is mentioned in the description! Keep up the good work!
As always you make it look easy. Amazing attention to detail with ultra professional results, even with a rattle can. Thank you sir for the encouraging and instructional footage. It is inspiring. Subscribed and smashed the like button without hesitation.
Trip report with some tips. First and foremost, a huge thank you to Brian and @Paint Society for the video, it REALLY helped my second whack at this go a jillion times better. Considering the number of newbies watching, here's some tips and tricks from a newbie that Brian didn't cover probably because he's old hat at this and it's just a given to him. 1. Buy all of your paint at one time from one place. If you have the option, look at the bottom of the cans and get matching lot numbers. QC seems a little loose over at Duplicolor and the color can vary widely from can to can. If you expect to need touch-ups down the road get a few extra. 2. I only used 2.5 cans of each to paint five 20" six-spoke F150 wheels. 3. I can't speak for any other colors but the Graphite is really gritty, the Sprayway wipe is a good idea between all of the base coats. 4. Avoid trying to paint the wheel upright, hard to see where you're getting good coverage. Laying down at an angle like the video shows worked best. I did mine with a light coat left to right, then a light coat up and down on each layer. 5. Don't make the first spray out of the can on the wheel, give a quick shot away to avoid spit/splatter. Wipe the tip often as suggested. 6. Get some slip on shoe covers. Overspray on the floor builds up quick and sticks to your shoes, then you forget and go walking thru the house leaving paint on your floor that's a SOB to get off. 7. Watch the video and take notes. What sandpaper did he use for that? How long between coats was that? Lots of steps and times in this video, handy to have them written down.

Great video. I'll be attempting this in the spring and this video gives me a much better instruction on doing it correctly by can.
Just did the factory wheels on my Audi TT and they turned out Awesome! I followed your method to a tee and it's excellent! Thanks, Brian!
Thanks for the tip regarding how it isn’t necessary to use primer on spots that weren’t repaired. I have a nearly new set of aftermarket wheels in perfect condition that have a flat finish that I now realize that I hate, and I want to spray them in a gloss finish. It’s good to know that I can clean them, rough them up, and skip to base and clear coat.
Dude thanks for this video. Looks like I’m gonna have a weekend project soon! 🤙🏼
Love this video! Have to tackle the curb rash on my 2010 Fit wheels and seeing those wheels in that color makes me kinda think about painting my stock wheels a different color, but I'll probably just keep them stock. Thank you and keep putting out these great vids! P.S. Killer music at the end! Made me smile from ear to ear!
once again u show me some thing i was wanting to do and needed some professional advice & the right way to do it ,thank s great viedo
I did this a few years ago when I put 05 Acura TSX wheels on my 07 Accord. I followed almost the exact same process and it worked remarkably well. I had a couple of chips I had to go back and fix when the tires got remounted but other than that, they were great.
Great video! Very detailed! Thanks so much, Brian!

Can’t wait to fix my curb marks! Thanks for the tips!!!!
Great channel!! Very thoughtfully explained and for every level of equipment. Now I know what I have been doing wrong for many years! Could you do one on painting wheels with hyper silver?
Well done! With any paint project, prep is key. This video illustrates doing it the right way. Your newly painted rims are going on your coveted ride and taking shortcuts does not work. They are going to get a lot of abuse from the road, brake dust, repairs, etc and you want a quality durable finish. No point in doing it if you're gonna do it half-assed. Worth spending the time on the front end to get the results and longevity on the back end. Great video!!
Love your stuff Brian, I've learned a lot and have built the confidence to take on more projects of my own. I would like to see a video on how to setup a air compressor for body work and painting.
Really Nice Job! Geez! Brand New! What a Skill!

I really appreciate this level of perfection and detail. But I think I could get 3/4 of the way there with about 1/4 of the perfectionism. You are an excellent teacher and a skillful painter.

PRICELESS, THANK YOU MAESTRO….
Those look like they just came out factory finish! Nice job and thanks for the education!
Very nice, love the masking! I may have missed it but on the back of the Dupli-Color can it states, "for additional coats after one hour, wait seven days for the paint to cure." Because this is an enamel it needs to set. If you coat with the clear too soon it could mess up all of your work. I'd wait to do the clear coat. If you use a lacquer clear coat it will definitely mess up the enamel. Always check to make sure your product makeup matches it's just easier, especially after you spend hours prepping. It's 90% prep and 10% finish that makes the wheels look good.
Beautiful work!!!
Pretty cool, I was looking to paint my ITR wheels a gun metal color and throw them on my 1st Gen CR-V.. and to see these wheels done and go on a CR-V like mine was confirmation 🤟🏼🙌🏼

Where did u get these rims? Are they cheap?
Did you do the wheel barrels too? Do these estimated counts for cans of primer etc account for barrels or just faces of wheel? Thanks!

Amazing tutorial! Thank you for taking the time to cover each and every step in detail. Also the tips about products was helpful because there are so many out there. Going to attempt to spray some brand new silver wheels and make them black. Any special considerations for painting wheels with a very complex and intricate pattern?
Respect for you, thank you
You did a great job. This video inspired me to paint my own wheels. I jist watched it again for the second time I learned so much.i have now painted a total of 6 sets of wheels using these methodes ir similar methodes!
Thank you for this great video! My wheels look bad. Now I can do something about them!
Thanks for the video. Ive got to lay down some clear and i think it will look very good
Bro, doing a set of wheels for older tundra, this vid makes it happen 😎keep em coming

Does the hardened clear help keep paint safe when having tires mounted i keep having to touch them up after tire changes
The chances this vid pops up :D After repainting my entire car, I have now moved on to the wheels :D Had some heavy scuffs and dents, So fillered, sanded, High build primered, and in middle of painting them Pearl Cadbury Purple :D

They are from Acura TL bro
Magnificent! Such a brilliant idea... your diy parking sensor!!!! I caught it at the end... but I also like how you set up a mock booth. Did you bother wetting the floors for dust? I guess the cans don't provide enough psi to disturb the dust. Great job on the wheels BTW, I'm thinking of doing mine next summer.
I've used a lot of the eastwood 2k aerospray cans. I think something to stress is the temperature needs to be as close to 70f as possible or higher and most importantly you need to shake the crap out of the can before and after you pierce the hardener. I had issues when I first started using the 2k aerospray paint because I wasn't shaking it well enough especially with the color paint, the primer isn't too bad. I want to say it's the cans with the white knozzles that really need that extra shaking and make sure the can is warm it doesn't need to be hot but just warm. I've easily used over 250 cans of that aerospray paint and I haven't had a single issue after I figured out the temperature is important not just with your project but the actual can needs to be warm it seems like common sense but it's something I make sure of everytime now and most importantly you have to shake the hell out of it like 3 minutes before and 3-4-5 minutes after piercing the hardener. I'm sure I go slightly overboard with the shaking but when I first started using it every single can clogged up because I wasn't shaking it enough I was doing 2 minutes before and 2 minutes after and that wasn't working well for me the cans clogged up not just the tips but the whole can. Like I said the primer is more forgiving I believe all the cans with the black knozzles are more forgiving. Then also the primer goes a lot further than the color like a lot further so get extra color. Otherwise I love that 2k aerospray stuff it's really good paint especially if you prep well and keep it at temperature while it dries, I use the chassis black on roll cages and bumpers and stuff on jeeps and it's very durable, surprisingly durable and very easy to use especially when you just have a single item to paint.

Isn’t this the same as paying someone to do it for you? I added the products in the description and total it and it comes to $300-400 give or take. Clear: $33x3 Primer: $33x2 Pre paint prep: $15x1 Paint: $13x4 Total: $232 plus the other added products. Isn’t better to pay someone to do it when they are charging $50 a wheel?

Good video, bought set if alloy rims off junker for my camry. Coating peeling do did this repaint thing came out good. Now if you get curb rash and want to fix here is a tip. To fill gouges use jb weld as filler. Stays for ever and when hardened can be sanded lime metal then touch up paint.
