Canvas color changes all the time, glazing is inconsistent across pieces and LV thread can be over stitched or loose, plenty of people return their pieces for this reason. This video is just riddled with misinformation that doesn’t help verify the authenticity of bags.

Did you ever find a way to make the red so glossy? This is the reason I wasn’t buying a speedy but I did because I thought the color was more brown and when I got it it was red 😩

Hi there I hand tool leather and I work with leather. If you use sand paper to lightly sand the gloss off only on red part you can repaint it a more brown color. Also the bumpy part you were talking about is the skin/hide skin cells. Fake animal hide is more noisy and more plastic like. As for the lettering on the print the real you can see blends into the leather. The fake when you look at it up close has streaks or lines in the paint.

I want to revise my original now having worked with repurposing the real lv and also the fake lv materials, the “fake’ is not a fake it is the same materials. It however is probably a discounted one reason being is there is no liner and the quality isn’t perfect. I learned in working with some damaged lv bags recently it is not leather it is a canvas with plastic coating so it’s not environment friendly like leather is biodegradable this bag is full of toxic plastic chemicals.

The speedy is suppose to have shiny glazing because since the handles do touch when holding it , it’s suppose to protect the handles. Per LV salesman

The way to tell it’s fake is the replicas have burgundy color around the areas of stitching. And the pentagon shaped stitching is usually longer. The real bags are 4 stitches by 5 stitches. Just a way to tell it it’s fake for those who don’t know.

No many people have noticed that. The reason for that is the authentic bags are all one piece of canvas. The canvas is wrapped around to make the bag from one piece so therefore part of it is upside down. You can do more research on how the bag is made if you have more questions.

I have seen authentics with thread like that and the chaps put on kind of wonky. Plus shiny almost orange glossy glazing.

I don’t even mine the replicas, they are just as good as the normal kind.

With the Speedys , typically I can tell right off the bat by looking at the piping. Authentic piping is usually thinner. Replicas almost always have the thicker piping. I haven’t found one replica that can get the piping right. Also my authentic speedys, if you look at the inside of the handles (the triangular portion, my authentics have a puffiness to all 4 insides of those spots. And in the Monograms, the authentic print has a a slight yellow tinge to the design, where Monogram color on replicas lean more on the brown side.. so many things you can pick up on.. Also authentic LV is no longer the good quality it used to be. Hardware on my wallets rusted from just sitting around in closet in only six months. Stitching is not the good quality it used to be 🤷‍♀️

i have a question about a very old vintage sac plat (from the 80‘s). it has no interior pockets, no d-ring and no leather tag (the louis vuitton made in france thing) just a little fabric tag on the side, data code 833. ive done some research and found a chat in a forum where multiple people said that its real and that the very old sac plat version was done that way, is that true? can anybody give me more info about that? ;)

Racquel Dee i already googled and in a forum there where multiple people saying it should be real cause they seem to be done this way back than cause it wasnt actually suppose to be a popular bag, it was actually designed to go into your luggage so you can pull it out when you are traveling and use it as an additional bag, thats why they had that very minimal look back than. i will do some more reasearch tho, hopefully i can find somebody who can confirm that 100%

Camille Crichlow ...thank you for your reply and advice, but the data code wasnt the main issuei had at that point-it was more about the bag‘s interior wich basically was just one graet compartement without any other pouch/slot and without teh „louis vuitton-made in france“ vachetta tag... that ws what made me think that it could be a fake bag-cause i couldnt find anything about a interior version like this-especially ‚cause of this strange fabric piece in the corner was kind of a red flag in my eyes...i had search online without a useful result-so i thought i just ask you guys ☺️☺️

Camille Crichlow ...the „833“ code was already checked online before ;) but tbh-its just three fucking numbers and everybody easily can hot stamping it into the lining....SOOOO: what does the online info about the code really says about the bag-especially when its so easy to copy?! right-it can tell you that, if it is an authentic bag, its made in the year xxx on calender week xxx and its produced in .... and thats it!! the code IS NOTHING MORE than a production information-ITS DEFINATELY NOT AND IT NEVER WILL GARANTY AUTHENTICITY OF THE BAG!!!!

I live in China and you are right this is poor replica and always exist few tiers of replicas sometimes even same supplier around batch 2-3 can improve a lot due to customers feedback. And price can say everything - the perfect replica cost up to 10% of original bag even in China. Also in China do not exist one source of replicas different suppliers doing replicas some of them just use pictures and videos and are cheap cuz of low investment and other factory which is expensive have to buy 1-3 pcs of original bag then price is higher and third tier of suppliers is factories which doing replicas from higher tier factory replica.

The LV logo is supposed to be upside down. They are that way on authentic bags as well. It’s one large piece of canvas wrapped around to make the bag.

About the difference in the brown coloring of the canvas your wrong that it would be an obvious fake. I've spoken to several of my SAs over the years and under the process of their canvas making each batch is different. I've bought many monogram bags and several of them are different in darkness.

You're providing too much commentary. If you have an authentic bag, it would be helpful to simply show the real detailing as you discuss the flaws of the replicate.

Are you serious? Any LV bag that uses a single piece of canvas from back to front will be upside down on the back. Can't believe you're commenting about that since it's such a part of the LV legend!

Gotta come up with all kinds of reasons to justify buying a real one why not just get the fake and have no worries about it getting tossed around or wearing out
