When I learned to experiment thinking of the root as a period to the sentence of a phrase and focusing more on the 5ths and 4ths and using the the extensions of the chords like 7th, 9th or 11th sparingly with voice leading that guides the ear logically to them it made my note choices a lot more effective. I think the faster you can think and instantly know what notes make what chord is occurring at any given time and where all those exact notes are across the neck and how to navigate through them specifically as well as guiding into what the next chord coming is built with, really starts to not only dramatically improve your phrasing and lines but also forces you use your mind in a very focused, present, and commanding manner. You realize exactly how powerful critical thinking can be in creating music.

The point is, jumping into Theory used to be a bad idea, IS a bad idea, and will _always_ be a bad idea. It is just too confusing. That is why I am working on my new method that will be free. It is about how to get from zero to playing well, and ready to learn Theory if wanted. I call it the KCB method. I hope you all hear about it soon when I finish the video. 🤘- Kevin Venture

The chord was ... Note (fret) ... E(12) B (14) E (14) B flat (15) C sharp (14)E open How can this be ?? ... Can You Help ?? Thanks Bud ... PS ... You do Rock.

Tyler Larson and Ron Just Ron both explaining a chord - Ron Just Ron - Mmkay, put your index finger on the 13th fret and your ring finger on the 15th fret. Tyler Larson - Once you pass through the space time continuum you will see the vertical axis of a Y point with a value of .0087546 kohms, at that point you will have your second octave and be able to reach the next level and even be able to emit rays of fire from your eyeballs. Lol - I know I know, to the guys who understand music theory it all made sense, to me I was like, just tell me where to put my fingers dude lol. Ugh so many reminders as to why when I was younger I should have taken music more seriously. Tyler man you have been putting out a lot of videos lately, I am not complaining at all, keep up the great work!! Even though your new studio is super super nice, I miss your old one lol. I really liked the colors of the walls in that one. Did you ever pick a name for the new studio?

Chordal names depend on what the root is .I always told my students after introducing chordal construction theory to take any note of the chord as the root .Then go through the keys .A static chord has an implied key center but placed in a harmonic context with a chord before or after its function changes. Also dont limit their musical imaginations by compartmetalizing their note choices. The purpose of improvisation is musical exploration . George Benson said it best , " there no wrong notes there is just poor resolution ." Chord tones are the launching pad .Any other note is space exploration , but without returning to that launch pad reference you seem lost in space... Of course this is in referral to chordal based improve ...you get into motif based or free form there is no limitation ...
