I thought I had progressed in obtaining a light box. Thanks for blowing that idea out the window. Next goal is a full studio. Your work is beautiful. Reminds me what I love about photography, I find light fascinating.

Thanks for the link to the black glass cutting board. Never thought of that for a reflective surface. Great for product photography and less expensive than plexiglass purchases over time.

Hey Ed, is that reflection on glasses are achievable with just weaker bulb though panel than with strong studio lamp? I got just bulb at home and wondering if i can achieve it.

You can definitely achieve this look with weaker lights. The key for this is the large diffuser. You can use white fabric or even really thin paper. It’s a case of trial and error with product photography. Really happy you enjoyed this product photography tutorial

cool concept man well done with the material. I did also lots of sunglasses pic for a brand, I like to add a softbox at an angle behind the big diffuser to create gradient on the lens. it make the glass look more reflective. I find that just a spotlight behind the the big diffuser make the lenses material look a bit frost and opaque. Definitively a challenging but fun product to shoot :-) Also focus stacking is a great addition to the high end look. Cheers

I’m not sure what you mean by showreel photography. Usually a showreel if for video and motion. Photos are best views on a website or printed. I hope this helped.

4:20 The focus stacking. You explained what it is and why you did it, but you forgot to mention why you would do it in the first place. A legit comment would be, why don't you use a smaller aperture like 5.6 to get everything in focus !!?? ;-)

He is shooting with short tele photo lens, the subject is very close, I don't think he can get everything in focus even on the smallest aperture. You can check with DoF calculator to see the results.

He already shot between f8 and f16, when you focus that close on an object there is always a smaller dof

I think he used focus stacking to keep the blurry/bokeh background but the subject is then totally in focus.
