OK I am not a varsity US type just an old guy who swings more onto Hush Puppies than formal shoes. But heck why not taste how the other half live if only on shoes shine. Thank you sir.

As usual fantastic video....I have found that drops of rain water on shoes leave watermarks, specifically in shoes where I have also applied the pommadier. It's not the case if I only apply pate de luxe and mirror gloss waxes. Is there any reason why this is happening? I wonder if I have to leave the cream drying off for a longer time before applying the waxes? I have seen this happening in my tan C&J Coniston boots and in my chestnut GC Adam shoes. Thanks!

One new thing I noticed in the video was the friction your were creating with your chamois. I have always used a very light touch but now that you mentioned it the shoe shine competition the winner absolutely produced a lot of friction. I'll have to try it. Everyone's pressed for shine!

Kirby, other people have asked about whether you clean your shammies and if so how, I would like to ask in addition though: you frequently mention switching to a clean area of shammy, when performing the early parts of the process (e.g. applying your initial layer of cream polish), do you use the same area of the shammy as you would have before when applying that colour polish, or do you just tend to use a new area? I'm just intrigued as to how long your shammies end up surviving and being useful.

Always a joy to watch your videos... Kirby I do have two questions 1. When will hanger project's yak hair brushes be available on your website? 2. Kirby, as you are the only person on KZread who is dedicated towards shoes and shoe care in order to educate people towards getting longevity out of a pair of shoes. Bespoke shoes are expensive but meant to last a lifetime if taken care of properly. You have covered numerous brands and different styles of bespoke shoes. It would be great if you could do an exclusive video or a small series on Berluti as well. I think they have one of the best patinas and unique designs for customers to choose from. Also, maybe some tips from people at Berluti on polishing their unique patinas and shaded shoes. Thank you Kirby.

Neutral is good when you don't want to change the color of the shoes, or for simplicity's sake when you don't want to get twelve different polishes to match your shoe just so. Colored polishes are best for when your shoe has cracking or scuffing that needs to be filled.

Hopefully my experience and frustration can be a lesson for someone, so I'll share. Since getting my Saphir products(some renovateur, cream polish, and high gloss wax polish) a few days ago, I think I've spent close to 10 hours polishing three pairs shoes(probably 7 or 8 hours on just one pair trying to fix it) and fortunately I've only managed to ruin one shoe, but unfortunately it was from one of my newest and favorite pairs. I guess the good thing is that the right shoe still looks pretty good and I know what I want. Hopefully a professional will be able to re-dye the left shoe and bring it back to looking like it did when I first bought it, or even better, make it look like the right shoe which I slightly burnished/antiqued using polish, but let me tell you, the cream polish will definitely change the color of the shoe if you use enough of it, even if the color is a very close match. Like Mr. Allison says in a different video, getting a perfect match is pretty much impossible. Also, in my experience, the renovateur does remove some of the color from the shoe, I have no doubt, and I've basically used it to strip off some of the polish I applied before trying again, over and over and over again. I am not condemning Saphir products, just telling people to be careful, because not only can polishing shoes become addictive, especially if you're a perfectionist and obsessive like I am, but it doesn't take much for things to go sideways then start heading downhill before which you realize there's no way back. Even if I stripped everything from the shoe completely, I can't see any way of fully restoring the original color of the shoe, like I said, I'll have to take it to a professional to re-dye, but I'm not sure they'll be able to match the exact color. And to finish off the story, these shoes were nearly brand new, I bought them less than two months ago and have worn them only a handful of times. Oh well, such is life I guess, you live and you learn.

Good morning Kirby. Beautifull performance from you, but, in my opinion you have to remove the laces before.

Good tutorial but whoops...color phase shift from using two different cameras/brands. Now I understand why one arm measurement at the bicep is always larger with all of this buffing going on.

Are you showing us how to shine shoes in 10 minutes as then we can Shine the shoes within a 10 minute period or are you showing us how how to shine shoes inside of a video that's only 10 minutes long? Is it The Shining that's going to be 10 minutes long or the teaching

I love these shoe shining videos, but the common-sense hygiene violations in this video make me sick.
