How to Shade Smooth in Blender 4.1

Shade Smooth has changed since Blender 4.1

    @@theblenderender I do use AutoSmooth intensively. Do not need the "modifier version" nor Geo Nodes at all (which is NOT MODELING AT ALL).

    Is there another source to fix this? I think I purged all the content from KZread to fix the problem. All the videos are the same and correct the same errors which works for me but none of them mention the problem encountered in face and body sculpting which makes the latest version unusable. What I'm trying to do is to obtain 100% smoothness like before in one click.

    You could try adding it in geometry nodes, not sure if this will work though

    It depends on what you selected as default in blender when you downloaded it. Some people choose right mouse to select objects with

    a feature would this have been when the normal modifier would be shifted automatically to the bottom of the layer stack .....

    The most annoying part is that you have to have shade smooth enabled through the context menu for it to work. Could be confusing as to why it's not working when using the modifier. Also could you explain what set sharpness by angle does vs mark sharp?

    This is pain in the ass. I feel it's broken now. For example, I'm trying to make flat object which was shaded by angle and it still smooth. Have no idea why

    Right click and shade it flat again. Maybe the shade smooth is still turned on. And indeed, it is a bit of hassle

    As an ex-Maya and 3ds Max user, I can say that it's a terrible decision. Blender was so much better at this than these two. Why did they do this? I switched to Blender because it was better. Why are they breaking it?

    @@theblenderender First of all, high performance with heavy meshes. In 3ds Max there are also cool curves, I'd say the best. Modifiers are way more flexible and there are plenty of them. Maya is better for UVs. UVs in Blender are a disaster.
