right now, with the world in chaos- it's nice to have an easy pattern that you don't have to think too hard about- but it's functional, with readily available supplies and you'll be able to make one or many in a short period of time- so you feel like you are accomplishing something. thank you

This is so fantastic. It's a great project that kids can help with from picking out fabric to some sewing if they are older. Since we are on "stay at home" orders new and interesting things to do are needed every week. Thanks Sue, you're the best.
Cute, quick, easy, & fun! 👍🏼

I need to make several of these. Thanks for your videos.... I have watched them each day you have posted them. I have so enjoyed following you each day to see what new project you would be sharing with us.
Thanks for another great project! Can't wait to get started!!
I love this! I have a couple notebooks laying around and I’m going to make them for my two daughters in love!
It must have taken you long to cut it out than sew it! As usual great colors.
Thanks, Sue. This has been fun! Your teaching skills are excellent. Clear and easy. Great job. Why shouldn’t our notebooks be super cute!
Thanks!! That was the quickest, easiest and perfect tutorial I have watched. I see a lot of notebook covers in my near future 😊

Another fun, easy and useful sewing project!!! Thank you Sue!
I have a stack of 5 notebooks, but wasn't sure how to make covers, now I know!
I love this project, looking forward to making these, I use a lot of notebooks for my quilt and knitting projects, if I make these in blaze orange, I will not lose them in the craft room :)
I need to make these for a 3 ring binder.
WOW - great idea - a great way to keep everything organized - love the concept and sure will be using this in my craft area for different projects. Thanks again Sue - you are amazing
Love this Sue, thanks for all your projects.
Great tutorial, thank you Sue, love it!
How do I convert to other sizes? I don't know the measurement of the composition notebook so I'm not sure how to adjust to other sizes. You are a very good teacher. Keep up the good work.

Google will give you a lot of conversion charts for different notebooks but all you really need to do is google the type and size of notebook she is using and see how much fabric is then being used for the seam allowances and increase/reduce the size of the it all, side inserts as well to get the look you want. I find the easiest way of all is to start with some paper and sticky tape. Once you know how you need them to fit nicely you will be knocking them out in minutes. They truly don't take long at all. I've just added a cardboard insert to store loose notes snd a small lined zippered pocket to hold some lunch money and a key. I'm becoming addicted fast 😂

Oh it's my favorite, you can see the links in the description for all the items I used.
If I want to do this for another book, how do I measure....how did you come by the piece sizes for THIS particular book?
@SookieSews
4 жыл бұрын
Stay tuned, this video was to be super basic for that notebook - I will show "How to Measure a notebook to make a cover" another day :)
would this still work if I went with 17 x 14.5 inches? (assuming I use a generous seam allowance?) My OCD compels me to round off the number v. precise measurements lol Could this be why so many sewing videos go with centimeters or is it a country thing? Genuinely asking as a newbie and I also come across many videos that are not in English

Without testing it out, I could not say with all certainty but you can try and let us know. I go with inches since I am stateside and 90% of my viewers are in the US.
How do you convert to other sizes? Don't have a notebook so don't know the conversion.

you can check google but all you really need to know are the width of your seams and you'll be able to work it all out. you can use paper and sticky tape as a fast trial run,
Oh, I love this cover! It is fast and easy! Thanks, Sue!
