The bonus vid was the piece I needed. The Encoder is a pain to setup on 'Ring' for the first time. After a person does one the second one should be a breeze! I wish I would have watch this vid before hand. The Schlage Encoder lock is a nice looking lock with the up to date features., like a self locking timer and a tamper alarm. The Encoder is the last of three locks I installed on my house. The first two locks I've installed last year are less expensive, don't look as good, and has less functional features in comparison to the Encoder. I wish the Encoder was the first lock I installed! I would have surely opted to have the Encoder on all my doors, rather than the two less expensive locks I purchased last year. The Encoder has given my ordinary front house door a bit of class, sophistication with serious looking security. I would recommend this lock to anyone. Thanks for showing us how to setup this lock in the Ring app... You have relieved a lot of aggravation.

Great video. I have a Ring and a Schlage Keypad Deadbolt. I was hoping to sync the two so I could unlock the door from the Ring app but was told I would need a hub. Do you happen to know what kind of device that is? Thank you!

Thanks a lot for the set up video. I would like to ask two things. I,ve heard some people complain online that the ring live view is slow and takes long to open. They say that,s why ring has the rapid ring app. What,s your experience with the speed of the notifications and live view. It looked quite fast in this video. Second question. I,ve heard conflicting reports on whether the schlage encode works with the ring alarm. some say it only works with ring alarm through alexa routines and not directly, others say it doesnt work with ring alarm. What,s your experience.

1st question. It's not fast but isn't slow also. If that make sense. If you are looking for a instant respond this isn't the system for you. It is possible to add a 2nd admin under the virtual keys area. The only difference is the 2nd admin cannot delete users.

will the lock disable the Ring alarm if you give someone access to the lock?

@@DIYRAY thanks I just found out I need the z-wave schlage. It will disable alarm when the door is unlocked. I installed this lock and works great but does not disable alarm. I don't want to give my alarm code to temporarily visitors.

Schlage sense its different.. i cant connect with app :(

You may have to start over and make sure you are on the same wifi network
