Great video! Try some 60" Scotty releases if you can! No bending over to hook up...just grab the clip line with an eye from a swoop of the rod. Neat thing is the clip clearly shows on the graph as it's far enough away from the ball that if you catch a small shaker you can see the two lines on the graph come together!

@BulatOutdoors yeah, just try it if you have one or even just buy some heavy leadee material and extend one. It works really good and best of all especially in the ruff stuff...no bending over the side!

Great video, very informative. How did you mount those Orca rod holders to your booms? Would your attachment work on a smaller 1050 Depthmaster? Thanks again.

Thanks. Glad you liked it. I use the orca 405 offshore kit seen in the previous video to this one. If you already have the Orca you could just add the 459 to the mix and it will fit on the 1050 as well.

What rod are you using? Looking for a new downrigger rodnin a casting configuration

I’m running a couple model years old Fenwick Eagle 9’0”. I believe it’s a medium fast

Why do you run such a long leader? Don't most people only put 10'-15' foot of leader? Is rest of your reel spooled with braid?

I run that much so the release can go on the Fluoro. Sometimes I run 25-30’ back so I have more Fluoro. I run 30lb braid on the reel
