Was so damn happy for Wiggs. He was the second best player on a CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM. To go from what everyone called a bust to that, AND an Allstar pretty much in one year is insane, but well deserved. He can tell he worked hard for it and had to humble himself a lot

He isn't having as good of a season this year but he has been injured and the Warriors are healthier this year than last. Klay didn't play most of last season so Wiggins was asked to be the #2 option and I feel he excelled in that role. With Klay back and Poole rising, he isn't asked to do as much offensively so I think thats more to do with his drop of production this year. I still believe he's the Warriors 2nd best all around player.

There's something important to be learned here. Leadership isn't always about yelling at your teammates and calling them weak or lazy when they don't work as hard as you want them to. Not everyone is a Kobe/Jordan type who thrives on pure conflict. You MAYBE do that once a lot of trust has been established both ways and you know your teammates inside and out. Instead, leadership is about giving the tools to help someone succeed. Sometimes it means taking a step back and letting them breathe. It means encouraging them at the right moments for doing the right things. It means making sure that they are okay mentally and physically. The fact that Wiggins has grown so much at Golden State is proof that he was always talented. Leadership failed him in Minnesota.

@@cdeleon3494 funny how blossomed equates to under career averages scoring and barely better shooting %s and rebounding. Only thing that changed is he went from a losing franchise to a champion with Warriors. Amazing how perceptions and legacies of players change whether they land on a winning or losing team. Do you think if Kobe or MJ played on that wolves team they would have won anything? Not a chance. Even his defense, sure it improved but it was in big part due to playing on the best defensive team in NBA. Wolves with Rubio, Towns leading were terrible on D. When defense is constantly collapsing around you due to bad teammates it is to play down to ones abilities.

The SACRIFICE that brought us one of the greatest NBA Finals back and forths ever. That makes me think, what would've happened if Andrew Wiggens didn't get traded from Cleveland and played with Lebron early on his career? Maybe he would've had this same mentality early on and maybe would've blossomed into the star we knew he could be. I feel like having him as a number 1 option hindered his learning abilities due to him getting away with bad habits like lacking on defense and bad shot selection but if he suffered those playoff woes early in his career (i.e Kobe) he could've learned and pushed himself even harder to become better so they could win a ring. “Believe you can and you’re halfway there.” And that’s what wiggins did believe and the warriors believe in him too, I’m so glad he’s on the warriors.💙💛💙😤😱🤯

There's nothing better than people working hard and finally getting their big break. Wiggins was always a solid player but needed to play for a system that complimented his strengths (Minnesota didn't have the winning formula - and he held the ball WAY too long in their offense which isn't a strength of his since he isn't the best iso player). He also stepped up big time defensively and finally had that fire in his eyes that we all wanted him to have. I was rooting for the Celtics to win but Wiggins' entire run with GS was nothing short of poetic how he silenced all of his haters!

Back in 2015 or 2016. I remember talking with my friends about wiggs and how he isn’t playing that well. Me a warriors fan, still liked Wiggs tho and I told them that if he was in a warriors jersey he will play better. I thought about that when he was then traded and knew that the warriors would help him improve his defense, which was the main thing I remember people criticizing him for.

Basically if you’re a #1 pick and have anything short of a generational career, the bologna sandwich eating talent assessors will label you a bust. Wiggins was never bad, even at his worst. He just needed to learn how to play without the ball in his hands. People wouldn’t even give him any benefit of the doubt when he was struggling on a franchise known as the Minnesota Timberwolves - AKA, possibly one of the worst franchises in the history of sports. If he averages 18-20 for the rest of his career, he’ll never escape the “hype.” But he’ll forever go down as a champion so he truly doesn’t need anyones approval now and he’s got half his career ahead of him still.

I give credit to Steve Kerr. He even told Anthony Edward’s “ we gonna draft you but you need to be faster.” Was honest and expected player to live up to it. That why I believe the Timberwolf drafted him. They know we wanted him

Wiggins in Minnesota was expected to be like the main guy, the number 1 option. He played so much better with the dubs when Steph was the one carrying the offensive load

He was never a bust, but at the same time he's never lived up to his draft status either. He's become a good two player, but people over hype him now and make him out to be a top twenty player.

All I know is Wiggins was invaluable during the championship run. He played some great 2 way basketball against the celtics, was banging down low, getting rebounds. I love his game when he is feeling confident and happy.

It’s 11 days after your comment , and it’s now been a solid month He’s been away with no explanation at this critical point of this season. It’s honestly frustrating . I’ve never seen any pro sports situation even close to this , in terms of opaqueness . Clearly, the absence is hurting the team’s success . even if they don’t tell us why he’s away, the team should just come out with their expected timeline for his return. (They absolutely know more than they’re telling fans)
