3 more months until I can hit the parks. I'm beginning to hate winter. Though, for Ohio, we've had an unusually light snowfall this year, it's been more rainy than showy. LOL However, I did make a little girl's dream come true. "Tis the season of skates! My youngest finally got her first real pair (her feet have officially stopped growing)....took her old ones to the rink today...spotted a girl on the same size rentals, my youngest, oldest at home and I went to talk to her mom...we all ended up crying. Her mom was actually looking at Target and other places (couldn't afford rink prices)...because...her daughter wanted them for her birthday...on Christmas Eve! :) I asked her to promise that as long as the skates were still in good condition once her feet got too big, that she'd pass them along to another little girl who needs them. It's been a tradition since mine were little to do this. No, they were not the BEST skates in the world...worn a lot, loved very much...but they were still rolling and in otherwise proper working order. It kind of makes me sad that this will probably be the last pair we'll be able to donate since all of my girls - and my sons' - feet have stopped growing and (so far) all but one now has their own "adult" skates (I've got 3 pairs, the one without her own can wear mine, so we switch back and forth)...but HOPEFULLY she'll be getting a new pair this season, too...maybe...if we can afford it. Hers might have to wait until tax time, though. She's very anxious to get the Blue Sky Beach Bunnies (her favorite color)...I just hope we don't have to wait another 2 months but...time will tell.

@@gabrielle287 :) Like I said, it's just been kind of a tradition. My son (oldest, only boy) was a bit older when we first started hitting the rink, so he's only given away 2 pair, my 2nd born (1st of 4 girls)- 4 pair, 3rd born - 2 pair (sadly, her feet grew really slowly. LOL), 4th born has given away 5 pair, and this is the 6th pair that my youngest has given away (started skating when she was 2, she's now 14)...so....19 pairs total. Both of my rinks have a "selling special" - if you order new skates, you get a whole 2% off if you turn your skates in to sell. I just don't feel that's right. I mean...2% isn't that big of a deal...so why not give them away instead? I just look for that one little girl (or boy, when my son was younger, of course) who looks like they're having the most fun at the rink. I've always felt it's easier to learn on your own - properly adjusted - skates versus those ghastly rentals that are never set exactly the same way. My youngest did want to keep hers "for outdoors" (I told her we'd get her outdoor wheels later for her new ones)....but when we got home, even she said she was happy she decided to give them away and ended up crying again because she was happy that she made someone else so happy! :) I guess...being a skater myself...for me, it's about sharing that love of skating as long as possible. Did all of those 19 pairs of skates over the years get passed down "again"? Who knows. But we do what we can to (hopefully) keep that love going. Plus, it is kind of a great feeling to see those kids' eyes light up when presented with their very own "new" skates.

Amazing video, Indy!!! Can’t wait to try this at the skatepark tomorrow

EARLY LUV YAHH ur such an inspiration
Thank you Indy from the bottom of the earth. In my imagination this seemed possible it just needed you to confirm it.
You're so good at breaking things down! Thank you!!
INDY I LOVE YOU AND ALL MOXI GIRLS! i just got my first pair of beach bunny skates on christmas morning and i’m beyond happy!! heading to the parks tomorrow
Awesome Amy!! This is actually super helpful! I gotta in get the bowls!!
I'm gonna get some beach bunnies next year, I can't wait! Love watching your videos, and learning more skating tips
Super helpful as always Indy! I’m excited to try this in the future when I’m more comfortable dropping in! You’ve taught me everything I know! Would love to see a video about dropping in from a sit. Sometimes it feels more approachable because you start low already, but I can’t seem to get myself over my wheels when I try.
I get my skates on Christmas Day and they are Candi Girls skates. Thanks for the help on how to be able to do a ramp with skates. Thanks agin

It’s so good ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🦄
this is rad! i'm a super beginner (still can't really skate backwards) but these eps motivate me to keep going so i can eventually do cool stuff on ramps like this!!
The best teacher!! 👍👍👍
Great tutorial! roll-ins are an essential transition skill!
They make me start skating 😄
Yay early!also I'm getting some skates on Christmas so that's another yay!
I am amazed at your skills I honestly suck at skating even though I’ve been practicing for 5 months

Don't give up! It just takes some of us a little longer to learn new skills than others. It took me a YEAR to learn to do a toe-stop stall. (My friends learned in just a couple days.) But if you keep on trying, eventually you'll get better. If I can get better at skating (I'm hella old), then so can you! ; )
I’m going to buy some roller-skates. this week for the first time I’m excited 😆 ♥️
Hey Indy, another awesome ep... I have a couple pairs of skates now but my favorites are my "Green Monster Antik Ar1's' and i run the old school Powerdyne Rival plate because it feels really stable on each push... But I'm thinking of maybe up-grading the powerdyne Reactor Neo or the Pro... Couldn't tell which one you roll on... Any thought's on which one is a good mix for ramp and urban skate...
I did not know jumping / lifting your knee was advanced. That's how I started when I first skated skate parks. I did it for fun lol even though it was my first ramp.
Heyyy Indy I just bought the planet roller skate sweater-shirt !! And some stickers !!
Hi Indy first time skater. I live in Jamaica where we have really rough terrain. My boyfriend got me a pair of candy grl skates just because he saw me always watching ur tutorials. Hmmmm. If you have a track, tennis court, large parking lot, or anything smooth, I'd head there. Of course, I know nothing about ur area but smooth places are the way to go.

in my skate park the drop ins feel more big and more up and down then a hill idk what to do
You smile is so warm I got a burn! Keep being happy! ^_^
Once again, a new video came along at just the right time for me! I'd been wondering if rolling in or dropping in on an angle was possible for quad skaters. I'd seen kids do it on bikes and inline skates, but not on skateboards or quads. I'd just assumed the side-by-side wheel setup made it not safe to do. Gonna try it on a bank first, and then graduate to a half-pipe. I think this might help me with my momentum when it comes to getting out on the other side, because I've been struggling with that. (PS: I would kill for a mini-ramp like that one in my backyard!)
I love love your vids I do have to say I havent been watching your videos since you started or the begging when you started you tube but I started tou watch your video for a week and I love them I even wath the old ones from 2 maybe 3 years ago and even 1 year ago I really thing you are a great teacher and keep up your good work. I asked my parent if I could get any skates this year thye really didnt say anything but I do think they will get me skates :) I think there fun and my little brother is aloso wanting to get roller blades but I think skates are better! :) I think you are a gret skater and a great teacher, just keep rolling! and one more thing I Think you should post more often since I love ur videos so much and love to watch them I have subscribed and hit the bell have a good day and I hope this speech motivate you and more :) :D.
Friday is the ultimate skate date!

It was like you heard me just say "I got park wheels and I'm going in...." BAM, your video popped up. Sign. Merry Christmas, Indy!
Why have I never thought of this? Staring down my coping is scary 😂 this makes it seem like I might be able to do it
I have just subbed
Omg!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’ve been failing at dropping in bc I’ve been doing it with my passive leg 🤦🏾♀️. I never realized that my dominate leg goes in FIRST!! I wanna go try now!
hi I'm new sub and I really like ur channel I've leaned a lit and it helps me because I do rollerdurby
Hi indy! Can you please make a impala roller skates review?
I GOT SKATES FOR CHRISTMAS!!!
Hey Indy, I was wondering if you could make a video about artistic roller skating. The fountain valley skating center has a great team, you should collaborate with them! I wanna get into artistic skate but there’s not many resources out there. Also, could you try the Riedell Angel skates? Thanks!! Love this channel 💛💛💛
Hi its almost time for my moxis
Can you do this on more vertical drops?? My park's only have more vertical one's
I’m hopefully getting new skates for my birthday:)

Did you get them?
Bought blades a few years ago... didn't like them, gave them away. Roller skates, because rexing and freestyle is in the blood, it's too stiff with blades.
Hey Indy! I’m 19 and I want to learn how to flip on roller skates. I saw you comment on another video that it’s not too late to learn at my age. But my family don’t think I can learn because I never learned how to do regular flips (except for cartwheels). Do you have any tips for me to learn?
Kool knee- pads indy
What kind of plates do you recommend for skate parks? Only metal plates or are other kinds fine as well?
Indy, last Friday I went to a skate park by the first time, I was in a ramp but I preferred to start on the buttom jaja cause I was scare
Guess what this girl's getting for Christmas???? You guessed it!!! My very own pair of future shoes!!! (a cute blue pair of Candi Girl Carlins to be specific)

I tried this for the first time yesterday and butt slammed twice in a row 😅. I went back to dropping straight in after that. After watching again, I realize I was facing the wrong way for my dominant leg 🙈 Will try again soon!

hi Indy! what wheels are you wearing?
Indy what skates should j get if i go to just normal skate rinks like the broadway skaterink and scate around on the road. And im will get some semi squishy wheels but ive only gone skating tqice and ive always had to use those skate helper things i wamna try amd skate alone now.
Have you tried an impala skate? I’m getting a new pair, upgrade from Chicago skate... and not sure if I should go Moxi beach bunny or Impala
where did you get that jacket
I got my moxis☺😻
Great video IJJ. I can't help not imagining more safety equipment. As my wise confucius Yammie Noobie often chimes.ATGATT...maybe with bows and fur?! I love your make up doll. Cheers
Is dropping in on roller skates the same as blades I’m currently looking at getting some impala skates as they are the only ones that make a size 14/EU46
My toe stops keep getting lose. How do I fix that?
can we do ramps with moxi gummy wheels ?

Super BabyBeatle Hey hope I can help. I suggest soft either knee high socks or sock that go a little higher than the top of your skates.
she is soooooooo pretty
Can you show us how to do a coping stall? This is great, but I'm still trying to "level up" by not face planting on the other side of the pipe! What do you do *after* you drop in, assuming you make it to the other side?

I have the same problem! LOL Just keep on trying - eventually it will happen!
Hey I’ve got a question about my new skates, so I just got a new pair of beach bunny moxi skates for Christmas (super hapoy) And because they are leather would it take longer for them to wear into my foot, and the tounge of the skate keeps slowing sliding down and it hurts my toes, will that stop once the skate has to used to my foot?
@juliepurpleskater1736
5 жыл бұрын
I have a pair of leather skates that had the same problem with the tongue sliding around sideways. I made my own lace-stabilizers on the tongue by making two short, parallel cuts in the tongue with an X-acto knife. (A razor blade with a handle on it.) You can also use a regular razor blade if you're careful not to cut yourself. The cuts are about 1 to 1.5 cm long, and about 1 to 1.5 cm apart... enough for both laces to fit through. It works kind of like the slit or loop you often see on running-shoe tongues. Just thread the laces through in each direction, and continue lacing as usual. Depending on the thickness of the tongue, it may fix the problem 100%, or it may be less effective, but it WILL help keep them in place better than they would be without stabilizer slits for the laces.
I'm thinking about commuting with roller skates, what kind of skate should i get? Recently I'm in love with the ones with heels and cute colors, but i'm not sure if that type is safe and durable enough for commuting
@skinwalkerskating9068

Hey Kin... I think a skate with good ankle support with high uppers is best. A high heel is good too just to keep your weight forward. 78A wheels will make most trips enjoyable also... Moxi's are great so to Antik but they are generally expensive
