Hey I seem to have a problem, when I hold down cmd + R I get to a screen that wants be to choose a network instead of the utilities, and all of the options and the network I use to have have to shut it down again... ?

Hi,the new password doesn't work as well, followed all instructions as per the video,reset the password,but after restarting and entered the new password it doesn't work.Can you help?

wow i know this video is old but you really helped me out, i bought a refurbished macbook pro and the seller hadn’t bothered to get rid of the admin so i couldn’t do anything. thanks!

It didn’t let me change the admin password just the guest and other user passwords. It said it was connected to an Apple account.

How do I apply this to my guest user acct because my user acct does not show up at the login .. only the guest user acct .. but I never created a password for it have any ideas thanks..

brother what about ADMIN password? i went to delete an application and it asked for my admin username and password. i know the username but cant remember the password, its been years. i know my password that i enter when i open my laptop but my admin password is different. plz help...

It’s not for the Passwort to log in right?

It worked fine except on the 1st try after using Terminal it did not come up with the change pass word box. I had to do a restart and then after using Terminal the reset box came up and after putting my Apple ID etc. evening worked. So thanks so much for the help.

when i hold cmd+r the window that pops up is not "macOS utilities" but "macOS recovery" instead and it asks for the user password...which i am trying to bypass and do a factory reset..

Same. Any fix yet? I can even access my iTunes anymore and my AppStore looks like a series of ?{¥~\[{ etc. I had to get the Catalina jump drive to get it running. I was able to access safari but has some code I forget come up the small box reissuing there was a volume aiff issue or something like that. I can’t seem to find video w tutorial but it never fixed it. I’m so stuck it’s frustrating. The MacBook came w over 1k worth of recording software which is all I use the laptop for. The software will crash and has no volume. Help?

Only wants to hear compliments. My terminal does not show the user who was the wis\dower of the neighbor that sold this macbook to me. After I type resetpassword it opens the select volume containing the user account and no drive shows up. I know there is a main user, but no one knows the password. No volume appears. Nothing works.I'd like to get their old pics and put it on a usb drive for them!

this should be a reset password to the admin password which gives a permission to the icloud.

My MacBook does not open up recovery mode I have a MacBook Pro

Please help it’s urgent, I tried resetting my password doing this even with terminal at least 3 times and when I entered the new password it wouldn’t work, I even had to make the password easier for myself to type in so I could make sure there was no room for error when typing it in

@@liamsantiago1760 good to hear, in my case, I went into Recovery mode, and juts re-installed Big Sur from the main menu, and that was it, my whole data was still there.
