When replacing, be careful to ensure the auger motor is resting on the mounting plate edge, so that it's trapped and the motor itself doesn't spin and unplug wires. If you replace it, 'id leave the side panel off while you start it up again and look to ensure the pin itself is spinning and not the motor itself. If this happens, unplug, take the pin out, and re-fit the motor so it can't freely turn, and ensure any wires didn't disconnect, including on the side where you start it up as that's where all the wires feed into.

Is the feed motor supposed to turn will operating? Every time mine turns, it unplugs itself and there does not seem to be a viable option to resolve this isssue. We have been able to use the stove for a total of 2 hours since we purchased it. First, the inside of the handle broke off, and now this.

@@liamwasser969 we were told that we had a faulty stove, we got it replaced by our local Tractor Supply for no cost. Our replacement has performed flawlessly. I would check and see if one of the bolts holding the motor is loose.

It can be difficult. You can take a rubber mallet and tap it loose.
