Had a controller LB to be a lot tougher to push than RB. Opened it, saw it had slightly more tension, tried to change it with prier but I don't think I managed to do that. Gave up, put controller back in place and top buttons were stuck, like in the video and pressed the buttons harder and loud noise came. The LB button was no longer stuck and was really easy to press again. I think the case was slightly off and let the LT to push button a bit so it had more force against press. Easy fix without opening would be... keep your fingers on LT and RT and it relieves the tension anyway on bumpers.

*_Once I put on the bit that goes over the guide button, the bumper side that happened to have broken off won't move and is just stuck._* Only way it'll work is if I leave that top-centre bit off. Can't see anything broken off or imperfect, so I'm baffled. Though it's a Venom make, so maybe some slight difference somewhere is enough.

My model 1697, the connect button is held down by the cover for the Xbox button, so when I took it off, the button went flying (who knows where, I cant find it now). After putting it back together, it glitched out my PC (had to restart it), but the controller is working now, so this tutorial did help me save $60 so I don't have to buy a new controller.

can someone please help me ive had this roblem for a few days that the LB bumper looks just like it works but its stuck on the inside. i think its a glitch but i dont know if some one can help me that'd mean a lot!

Hey where did you buy this bumpers. I bought the ones advertised to fit controllers with a 3.5mm jack but they are different. This one u show is exactly like mines.

The screwa have a little metal pin in the middle of each of them. Just get a drill with a small bit and drill it in the hole, and they pop out

Great video!! However, I do have one question. Will these instructions work as well with the xbox elite v1 controller model 1698? I know it's probably a dumb question but I just wasn't sure if my controller would be slightly different or not being that you're showing a standard controller in the video. My bumpers & triggers should be arriving in the next few days. Thank you for your time.

Keep having an issue where one of my bumpers is too loose and clicks annoyingly every time it's barely touched. Gonna try this in the morning and see if I can clean things out under there to fix the problem Edit: Can't find the exact issue other than it gets clicky when the back panel is on, but cleaning and putting things back into place seems to have negated a lot of it and the clicks are barely audible at the moment

its unlikely but u can look up a video for a fix with your model number which is behind your battery pack

This sounds really dumb but have you tried pulling the triggers down to the board and then putting the back plate on? I found out that this was my issue after about 20 minutes and a smashed light

the big grey thing like litterally fell off and it was 2 wires on it ...

Where does someone buy replacement bumpers? I have a Halo 5 controller and I need to replace the bumpers and while I'm at it I'll probably replace the thumb sticks, but I'd like to find replacements that match the color of my original pieces.

ive fixed computers replaced things and Aswell as controllers still nothing more frustrating for me lol

The elite bumpers are a different shape i think. Search xbox one elite controller bumpers on amazon. They're the silver ones.
