Huge help! My hose cracked in the center and was shooting coolent everywhere. The hardest part was removing the hose from the cylinder housing. But a slight wiggle and two hand tug got it off.

This seems like an easy job to do. Idk why my mechanic wanted $500 for labor. All I need is the upper hose right? The main problem is the upper hose being ripped.. should I change both hoses just in case? 2006 325i e90

Sorry for just getting back, I hope you got it fixed now. Yes it’s fairly simple. I would replace it if you can, since these do go out fairly quick. But if not, just put some lubricant for when you replace it, it doesn’t get dry and brake :)

Wait, so do you need to top off the coolant when you start the electronics and let it run though the hose?

I bought a used 08 328i and my rein hose ripped, while I was replacing it my hose that connects the rein to the upper radiator hose dry rotted, I’m trying to get the upper radiator hose off and it’s hard to get off like it’s glued on but I don’t think it’s glued on. Any tips to help get it off before I break my radiator

Ahh that happened to me too! I would suggest to put lubricant or PB blaster on the part that attaches to the radiator. Then make sure to try to yank out Evenly straight. If you go at an angle, it will be harder. Worst case scenario, if there’s no way to take it out, try to cut the part that touches the radiator slightly and carefully. That way there’s less stress on the stuck part. Best of luck!!👍

Had the same problem. Ended up using my Dremel and a cutting wheel and VERY carefully cut some slots in the fitting without damaging the radiator connection. Broke the fitting apart with a screwdriver and it came right out. Use the slightest amount of lithium grease on the new fitting and it'll slide right in place. Make sure the clip is down and listen for it to click in place.

Hey!! What I found easier is to remove the metal clip and through the small gap, Put some wd40 all around. As well as anywhere that could get into the stuck side. Then little by little pry Evenly with two flat head screw drivers, or wiggle gently. It takes a while sometimes. But it will come out 😀 best of luck!

Hey! If the clamp one solid ring of metal that’s been crimped on? If so, get a dremel and VERY gentle cut the band off. Then once it’s cut in half take some pliers and slightly bend them to give you the room to slide of hose off. If you didn’t damage the small hose after cutting it off then feel free to add one of those screwdriver ones! I hope this helps
