Nicely done and thank you so much for this video. You are right when you say it’s little-known about, and you have definitely corrected that. I’m guessing it must rarely give trouble, but it is emotionally difficult to reassemble knowing there is that one bearing you haven’t tended to.

Great video, thanks for taking the time to put it together. Definitely not a bearing you hear a lot about, so good to see replacement tips.

Did this repair get rid of your noise? Thanks for sharing, good tips on the installation procedure and depth of bearing.

Yes it did! Also probably not a bad idea to check or repack your wheel bearings while you have it all apart. I am not sure if my noise was a result of the spindle bearing or the wheel bearings. Either way, the noise is gone now 😁

I’m having some squeaky noises only when I accelerate not when I’m off ,in I pulled the wheel off the brake pads seem fine although everything looks old, I’m wondering if this might be my actual problem or should I just go on and perform this job anyway?

Hmm interesting... I would just take the hub off and check the wheel bearings and make sure they are greased and maybe repack them. I would also check that the hub flange is still in good shape and the splines aren't stripped. I have heard over time they wear and can strip causing the axle to spin inside of it. That is the only thing I can think of that makes sense that it is making noise under acceleration only... sorry I don't have a concrete answer for you! :)

Hey! Do you know the depth of the bushing? I just took out my old one and it looks super short. And there should be a gap between the bushing and the lip in the spindle correct?

Hi! I am not sure of the depth of the bushing. I just drove mine in until it bottomed out on the hub

@@146garage3 ok thank you! I put the bushing on the cv axle drive shaft to see how far it goes and it lines up right at the lip so I think Im okay. Thank you!

Hey so I’m changing my CV shafts and realized that bushing stayed on the old shaft, it didn’t stay on the knuckle. Just wondering if that bushing is supposed to pressed in cause if it is I’d probably have to get a new one

Yes I believe that bushing should have stayed on the knuckle. I had to press mine in so I think it's supposed to be a pretty tight fit. Is it not tight to the knuckle anymore? Like it can be pressed in by hand or without much force?

No it doesn’t just slide on. I’d probably have to press it back in but idk how I feel about pressing in a bushing that came out on its own and also secures the spindle bearing in place loll. I think I’m gonna hold off for now and ordered the bearing and bushing just in case :/

My CV went out in kind of a weird way though. I think the snap ring slipped off (idk how) and the cv slipped back and stripped the teeth off along with the teeth of the hub flange so I’m guessing when it slipped out it probably got caught on the bushing and brought along with it

Ah yea isn't it awesome when weird stuff like that happens? Haha. It's probably a good idea just to replace them like you said. If I remember right they weren't super expensive parts
