Thank you the fix worked. I called a mobile mechanic and even he had issues getting the location correct as far as where the sensor was! this video was a great help, even to him!

Ok maybe you can help me out I have a 2001 chevy express 1500 with a 5.7 160,000 miles just bought if from a guy had good oil pressure then just started dropping to 0 replace the oil sensor and oil pump not getting any leaks first start up goes to 40+ after like 5 mins drops to like 2 any ideas of what else I can try or is the motor pretty much shot from carrier bearings being bad

Hello, do you know if your van had an oil screen inside that hole you took the sensor out?

There is a screen down inside the hole that gets clogged and should be changed with the sensor. I put in a new sensor and pressure was still showing low on the gauge. It took the dealer to tell me about changing the screen.

From my understanding this screen was added during 2007. So keep that in mind, earlier years will not have that from the factory.

How deep is the screen? I’m not seeing nor feeling one down inside the hole. My van is a 2009 gmc 3500 6.0 savanna.

I have a 2003 Chevy Express 1500 Conversion Van (labeled as Explorer), it has Vortec 5300 V8 SFI Gas engine. Could you let me know where is the engine oil pressure sensor located? I am having a hard time finding this sensor.

Hmm... mine was not 1 1/16" a smidge too big and 1" is too small. 2008 Chev Express 6.0

Somewhere down the line ur worker bee hit the wrong nail his thumbnail has a black spot on it ouch.. been there myself.. hitting the wrong nail thing

oil sensor # 12677836 fixed high reading thanks for detailed replacement procedure..

Also spotted that . I'm sure this wasn't a repair just demonstration. Sensors were clearly different colors. I really like his videos. Straight to the point and explains things well . I hope he keeps up the good videos

how dirty it is necessary to not clean the Engine Access Cover

I have a 1991 chevy s10 and my oil temp gauge goes down after driving around for awhile. I've checked the oil and its good, could it be my sensor?

+Jesse Pineda It may be a sensor going bad. It's is common for this to happen if they start to go bad.Here is a link to a replacement oil pressure sender for a 2.5 if that is the motor that you have. Hope this helps you out goo.gl/9CNXvc

+mats albarn If the oil pressure fluctuates you may want to see if the oil pressure sensor is bad first. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com

I saw on another video that a the oil pick up filter straw has an o ring that goes bad so it sucks air and causes low pressure, you have to drop the pan. let me know if this was your problem you can email oregon outdoor sports I am having the same problem of low oil pressure

No oil sending unit screen on this engine? Looks like you definitely put back the old sensor.

I was wondering the same thing do they have one or not I have the same van replaced my sensor but still low oil pressure even changed my oil pump and puck up tube o-ring still the same frustrating

you forgot the filter thats underneath the sencor
