Hey your video is amazing! Someone made a video telling owners to take off fuel rail ignition coils spark plugs and intake manifold off just to get to the darn thing! I knew it was bogus! Thanks for showing us all how EASY and inexpensive it really is 😎🙏👍

I finished the sensor relocation on my 2003 5.7 Corvette today. I did this job about 2 years ago but I didn't install the braided extender hose at that time. So, here we are again. (I bought the extender hose with fittings on Amazon for $99). I didn't want to disturb any more than necessary and I didn't want to drill any holes. I did not remove anything except the plastic engine cover. Although it was a royal pain in the butt, I was able to disconnect the old sensor and pull it out. For me, the hardest part was threading the extender hose into the engine. I could not get the threads lined up while rotating the hose. I had my son come over and somehow he got it threaded on his first try. 8-) Now, my oil pressure gage no longer thinks it's a windshield wiper. It was continuously slamming full scale and back to zero. Now it sits rock steady at 42 PSI at cold idle. If (when?) this new sensor fails, it will be very easy to replace it.

Easiest way to do it was to do it from the left side and then reach in to unplug the sender. You don’t even have to use a swivel or universal joint. Just an extension, socket and wrench. Took me less than five minutes to change out the part

I'm attempting to do this same project on my '07 H2 Hummer 6.0 L vortec. Problem is I can't fit my hand back there to even disconnect the wiring connector. I have the special socket and the new sensor. I removed the trunk latch bracket as well as the plastic trim piece on the top of the engine to make more room. But it's still a real pain to get My hand back there. Not to mention there's nowhere to really put your body weight outside of bear hugging the engine while keeping your feet out of the way because the hood of the hummer is there behind me. Any suggestion tips or tricks would be appreciated thanks ✅✅

This is good unless you have a 6.0L and medium hands... I can hardly even fit my hand back there behind the block to trace the wire. If I do get it back there I run into some sort of foam crap and the wire disappears behind it somewhere. I guess I will just have super high oil pressure forever because this shit ain't happenin'. I would personally like to find whoever designed this and waterboard them for their stupidity.

That's funny. .most don't realize that gm small and big block have always had the sensor there..the distributor was in the back on the old ones the sensor same spot..when they went to efi you had one there for the computer and one by the oil filter for the gauge.(some had a tee fitting with two by the distributor).now the same sensor goes to both that's why it has 3 wires....it still would have been nice if they would have just put it by the oil filter...I suppose you could buy a male and female plug of the same and make a pig tail wire and move it there...

I have a 2004 Envoy XL V8 5.3L and the low oil pressure stop engine light comes on. I've been adding bottles of Lucas Stop Leak to assist with the oil pressure and that has been working. Its becoming expensive adding the stop leak and I need a solution to end the problem. I've had it checked and tested. It's reading 55 lbs of pressure when idle and there's the normal leaking of oil. When diagnosed the check engine light was for the O2 Senors which I had replaced with the Wheel Hub Bearings. Please Guide me in the right direction.

In the video though I noticed when you remove the plastic top cover over the intake there didn’t seem to be much room back there but then when you add the camera back there there was tons of room I am wondering did you jack the engine or the front end of her something to make the engine change position because you have a lot more room than I got. A lot more room I can’t even put my tiny little wiener in there.

@Tommy Caldwell I haven't tried that yet. The reason I haven't tried that is because I'm not getting a low oil pressure warning on the DIC like the vehicle in this video. I'm wondering id the cluster is going bad. My oil pressure has been normal all week and hasn't dropped to zero. Weird.

@@akidim13 I did fix mine yes. It was the cluster. The stepper motor was going bad. Best advice I can give is when your oil pressure drops to zero do you get a Check Engine Light or error message on The cluster ? If not the cluster is probably failing. If you do get an error when the oil pressure drops to zero and you hear slight ticking in the engine you have legitimate low oil pressure.

@@DJR5280 no ticking no nothing, no check engine light, only on the message center does it say “check oil pressure”, if I go full throttle it goes up to about 15 psi and the check engine pressure light turns off, I’m thinking mine is the actual sensor but if not I’m for sure doing cluster next

@@akidim13 Yours sound like the sensor. I'd start there. If you change out the sensor and still have low oil pressure and the DIC keeps telling you to check Engine oil pressure you have something else wrong. Possible the I ring on the pick up tube in the oil pan and or bad oil pump. Worst case the cam bearings backed out and engine is shot. Start with the sensor and see what happens.

It does require a oil pressure socket. But if you don’t have one just use the new sensor to match up with what you have in your collection. If anything fits you can use that. I believe a deep 1 1/2 socket will Work

Some vehicles according to some mechanics didn't have the screen they're thinking was somebody else removed it and just never replaced it. But why the no mention?
