How to Replace Fuel Tank Straps on a Nissan Sentra

In this video I show how to replace the fuel tank straps on a 2004 Nissan Sentra. One strap broke due to rust, and the other strap is not far behind. The procedure is similar on most cars. Save yourself a couple of hundred dollars and repair it yourself !!

Thank you for filming this. I really appreciate the insight. Basically, I'm sizing up the job ahead of myself. My fuel is actually leaking out of the seam in the tank. Now I can see how it attaches.

You’re welcome.....I was able to get the straps on by myself, but it would’ve been helpful to have an extra pair of hands....Good luck!
Really great video. I also have a b15 sentra & recently just noticed a smelled upon fill up and lost a lot of gas mileage while driving it this week. My mechanic lifted it up yesterday & showed me some gas wet spots that seem to be seeping from the top of the gas tank. My Sentra is also rusty at the bottom. Now I see how the straps r what holds the tank in place. Will have to source a tank and straps and try to spray a can full (if needed) of pb blaster for those bolts and have a shop do it for me. God willing all works out in my case, cause the car drives really well otherwise

There was too much rust on the undercarriage. I got 210,00 miles, so I can’t complain 👍
ty sir, mine broke on my driveway after i backed down 5 feet to move it, then when i walked away i looked back and i was like wtf is that hanging down...??? thank GOD it didnt happen on the highway at full speed... :) cost me 67$ for both, it could have cost way more if it had fallen off at full speed.

That fuel tank isn’t plastic, I wish it was cause mine is rotted out and leaking fuel bad 🥲
