Yeah, not helpful at all guys show the steps to replacing not edited garbage.

What they don’t explain in this video is you have to use two flat head screwdriver’s to pop out each end of the airbag simultaneously you can’t do it with just one screwdriver

Thank you for the detailed airbag removal; much appreciated! I've owned and operated many chevy trucks through the years, not one with airbags (ex wife excluded). Recently had my 94 Silverado stolen and was forced to upgrade. Many thanks again :)

What if the air bag is not the spring type? It's 95 (3/95) and it not the same as in the video.

I need that little pin for the horn but cant find it anywhere online. I would really like to be able to use my horn. Anyone know part number for it?

Just got a stolen truck back and new ignition lock cylinder and nasty steering wheel are replacing what was on the vehicle before stolen. I see yellow sleeve on the air bag wires. I have wires cut with yellow tape around them under steering column hanging loose. Suspect my air bags were destroyed from the thief or the air bag was needed elsewhere. Lucky to get what's left of the old truck back but I really don't need all this stuff to figure out Right now.

Mine has 2 screws on it im.nost sure what size it is

Did some years have metal 2 pins instead of 4?

yes the ones with 2 won't have the 4 holes and have a torque screw on the back so that's how you can tell. I think you pry those one towards the center of the steering wheel to pop out the airbag.

MAJOR QUESTION,!! How about the sensor or activator to set the airbag off?? Does that need replacing? Repairing my truck after meeting another truck in the chicken lane, so I'm not plugging my new airbag in until I find out , thanks for any info and t h e video.

So I'm in the same boat all I have to do is just install 2 new airbags without swapping clockspring or anything else?

Just found the answer on another video. You need a small diameter piece of metal (no bigger than 1/8" to push in the center area to unlock the airbag. I tried a couple tools and once I got one that fit in there it easily pushed in & released it. Anything too big you'll puch hard & it wont work, but once its the right size, it'll easily push in. Piece of coat hanger might work.

Yes, but your Airbag light will be on. You will have to remove your Airbag light on the back of the cluster. I removed my airbags and haven't had an issue with anything, just remove that Airbag light on the cluster and you will be good to go my friend. :)

This makes absolutely no sense to me. All you’re doing is touching the cones and they pop out? I’m putting like 30lbs of force while prying the airbag out and it doesn’t budge.

this video is onl for 95-97 98 has a different air bag and 88-94 doesnt even have one

1995 air bag doesn't come off this way!

THEY NEVER SHOW OR DETAIL HOW TO DEAL WITH THE HARDEST THING YOU'RE GONNA RUN INTO... IT LOOKS SO SIMPLE... TAKING THE AIRBAG OFF STEERING WHEEL IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT.... OR AT LEAST FOR ME IT IS. IVE BEEN AN HOUR TRYING AND STILL HAVEN'T GOT IT OFF . MY 1995 CHEYENNE LOOKS LIKE THERE ARE TWO SMALL PINS THAT MAY HAVE TO BE PUSHED IN BEFORE IT WILL RELEASE THE AIRBAG..A SCREWDRIVER PRYING IT AIN'T WORKING AND I'M SURE THATS THE REASON THIS GUY SKIPPED IT AND JUST MENTIONED IT WAS DIFFICULT TO GET TO.. THATS WHAT WEW NEED HELP WITH IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lol i felt the same way until I climbed into the cab on my back and saw these metal tabs. You can literally see them from that angle. Once I did it was very easy to pop the airbag off

Mine's the same way. There's no locking clip to move. I've got a small mirror I can use to look close back in there and there's no wire to move.
