It's not too difficult to install a ceiling fan. This video will demonstrate the ENTIRE process I used to install a fan, step by step. A few basic tools and a bit of time is all that it took.
This fan has a remote control, which can be a handy and convenient feature. It also includes a light, multiple fan speeds, the ability to reverse the fan direction, and it looks great.

You forgot to point the stud finder at yourself and say "Hey. I'm a stud!". That's required whenever you use a stud finder.

if you have to remind yourself that you're a stud then it's likely you are not a stud
@ 4:55 you mention having to replace the junction box, because when you install the bracket, it has to be on a stud. The existing junction box, was not positioned correctly for this new bracket, BUT, then at 8:12, you're screwing mounting bracket into junction box. What happened to the INSTALLATION OF THE NEW JUNCTION BOX?

I am watching your video to learn how to install a ceiling fan on my patio. This is the fist time I am going to do this. I asked a handy man if I could have a ceiling fan on my patio and he made it sound really complicated. Thank you
Thank you for the instructions! Ive been waiting to put up our ceiling fan with light fixture.
I’ve been anxious about doing this for months thank you for the step by step!!!!!
I want to mention that if the existing light fixture is on a dimmer, and there is no separate hot wire, the dimmer must be removed. If there is a separate hot wire, motor must be either wired to hot wire that isn't on a dimmer, or the dimmer must be removed. Fan motor should not be on dimmers, but fan lights can be on a dimmer as long as the dimmer only controls lights and the motor is 100% independent from it. Just a common mistake people including some electrician make when replacing a light fixture with a ceiling fan.
Thanks so much. These were perfect instructions to help me replace the light fixture with a ceiling fan for my husband for Fathers Day.

I Noticed that as well. Tomahawk you didn't vlog the support beam part. That is the reason I looked up installing a ceiling fan. Thank you for the cool video. Good thing using the fluke tool.
Great video. You mention in one of your comments that the original ceiling light was on a dimmer. What did you do with the dimmer? Replace it with a switch? If so, what does the switch control? Do you just leave it on all the time so the remote controls everything? Thanks
Excellent job and step by step details. Thank you 😊

What if I only have 2 wires in the ceiling? I have an old house. I replace my 2 kitchen fixtures with updated flush mounts. The boxes only 2 wires in them so the ground wires on the fixtures were secured to the metal plate that came with them. I want a ceiling fan in my living room but I’m sure the wiring is the same as in the kitchen. Am I just not able to install a fan? I’m not smart at this kind of stuff so not sure if this will work for me.

Hello! I am trying to install a ceiling fan but my problem is there only seems to be a ground wire coming from the mounting piece and none from the actual lamp, only the blue (light) and the black and white. Is it possible it is a defect and the lamp is missing it, or is that something normal? I tried connecting it regardless and the lamp works when I use the pulleys but if I use the wall switch the breaker flips. If you have any tips it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you 😊

Question. Hoping you’ll see this expediently. As I just bought the fan. I’m going from a ceiling fan with a light, to a ceiling fan with no light. Can I just cap the existing wire for light source with a plastic screw nut?

Wireless fans suck. Always buy the fans with the chain if you don't want to spend half the day trying to turn it on or of. On the other hand, if the light and fan go off or on at the same time, it was probably installed incorrectly.
Because my fan/light has a remote..electrician did not wire to the ight switch. Says is my fault cuz I didn't want hanging chains..should I just take it down and hook to the light switch?
12:26 wasn't the power already off when you turned off the breaker in the beginning of the video? That confused me. But still a wonderful and very informative video. Thank you

I’m not a fan of the hunter brand. I know people love it and stand by it but the Hampton Bay (Home Depot brand) is way easier. Now I do work there I’m a sales man in electrical but I’m being unbiased. The new easy install fans save so much time and there mostly all led now and doesn’t even require a bulb. Blades snap on and are secure. And some have the remote built in already.

Couple things not understanding the old bracket to new bracket thought you were going to add a new bracket? And also anytime i work with power even if the entire city is turned off i will always rewire nut the wire that I unspliced again. everyone does things differently but thats just what i would do.
