Hey man you just saved me a lot of trouble with this vid Thanks big time Btw I think you could install the clip easier if you squeezed it with a small clamp

I did the same on my Z1000SX (Ninja 1000). The method of mounting the footrests is exactly the same, so let me share my thoughts. In my opinion, it is much easier to remove this clip with a screwdriver. Just place it in the gap between the clip and the pin and press it lightly. It's also MUCH easier to put it back on with a pair of pliers. But not by trying to stretch its ends. It is enough to grab the pin and the clip with pliers (perpendicular to the surface of the clip and the axis of the pin) and squeeze. It will click into place in a second.

Hey man I wanted to say thank you for the videos, they helped me perform maintenance on my bike I was planning on just paying someone else to do!!!! If you ever are looking for new ideas, you should DEFINITELY make a video on cleaning carbs the proper way. This is something I have been wanting to do to learn about the bike but there aren't many great videos out there!

Thanks buddy. A couple people have asked me to do a vid on carbs, but I've never needed to service the carbs on my bike other than synchronization because I ride 100 miles every week and the carbs have never been clogged. Some people wonder why I don't get a bigger bike (I'm 6'2" and 190 lbs) but I'm not rolling in the dough and the insurance on this bike is only $23 per month for full coverage.

Appreciate the video. I bought some after market pegs and didn’t realize it’s pretty much all about the E-clip! Before I watched this I was wondering what tool was used to get it off. Looks like I’ll be using needle nose pliers as well!

Thanks for the video. My footpeg survived my crash, but the other piece that it is attached to (part# 35063-0385-18R) did not. It's because of your video I realized that my e-clip was missing. But, my question to you is: how important is it to replace the bank sensor bolt? My bank sensor bolt looks slightly bent, and the black rubber sheathing is gone. Other than the fear of a sparks during a tight lean, is there any other potential danger to leaving it as-is?

Most riders don't lean enough for the sensor bolt to be necessary, but the part is so inexpensive that I would replace it just in case it would save you one day. It helps you to know when you're leaning too much.

Go to the following website and it will give you the part number: Partzilla. Type in your bike and look under footrests. My bike has been slammed into six times while it was parked (I don't have a garage and live in front of a supermarket parking lot). One time (hit and run) the person broke that part in half. It's a mounting bracket for the footpeg, rear brake master cylinder, rear brake pedal, and brake light sensor. It's more likely to get the best price if you buy it used on Ebay or Amazon. I think I bought mine on Amazon. If not, Partzilla usually has the best prices for brand new parts. Just be sure that you get the right one. The left side is different than the right side.

Are you talking about the mounting bracket? A car backed into my motorcycle and snapped the right bracket in half. It cost my the same amount. Dude didn't even leave a note.
