    I feel that the first thing to mention is it's highway capable, gets around 60-70mpg and has a four gallon tank. You can ride this thing to work all week and gas up on the Saturday. Maintenance is easy with only two carbs. It's kinda like how an old EG civic is still fun to drive.

    I can relate. My Ninja 250, though quick, is nothing as fast as other bikes I've had. I stepped down to small bikes when my oldest brother wrecked on his Ducati at 110 mph, cracking his $800 helmet in two, breaking his right elbow and messing up his leg pretty bad. He's lucky to be alive. I want to carry on the tradition and be alive, too. 👍🏍️

    @@scee8474 I'm starting my 6th KZread channel (this one is my 3rd) called "Kaw Ninja Rides" to take my 250 on rides and use my helmet GoPro to document all my rides. This 8s my 2nd Kawasaki Ninja 250, and it's at my house here in Mexico. Had it shipped here and legalized to be a Mexican vehicle... After refurbishments, which there will be videos of it, I'll be taking everyone on rides with me. Maybe the biggest bike I'll step up to will be a 600. The temptation to go over 100 mph is always too strong, or to go too fast in corners or busy streets... And with smaller bikes it's harder to do that.

    I've had the 250R since 2018. It's fast, and I'm over 250 pounds. Amazing bike. This bike has been tuned, cold air intake w K&N filter and fitted carb jets, balanced motor, redlines at 15,000, top end of 145, 0 to 60 in 4.6 seconds. It's got all the power I need, and great gas mileage. I use it to go long distances to preach in the mountain villages where my van can't go. And did I mention fast? Robbers can't catch me. Hey brother I've always wondered what a lower powered bike feels like around town. I have an SV650s, and even that hits 60 in like a mid 3 second. I have a TL1000s project bike and that thing is stupid fast around town LOL. I wonder how fun being able to rev a bike out on normal roads would be. The question is keeping within the speed limit - is it more fun to ride a bike with less power? What is your opinion on that?

    It is more fun to ride a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow. Unless you're near a track you can use, or just don't care about death/loss of license, you'll never be able to use the TL1000 to its full potential.

    Most modern cars have 130bhp. Believe me, most cars are quicker. I have a ninja 250 and an Aprilia 1000 RSV Mille. One is equivalent to walking as the other is to Hussain Bolt. But I like the difference. Riding the ninja gives me clarity. The Aprilia isn't good at doing towns and slow.

  • @ws8080

    @ws8080

    Most modern cars have 130bhp? In what country? HP numbers are going down - they are putting tiny engines in but with 9 or 10 speed transmissions, so by definition have very little HP but lots of gears. A new F150 comes by default with only a 2.7L engine. My Jeep Wrangler with 2.5L is rated for only 120HP. Then look at the power to rate ratio, which is what really matters. A Ninja 250 has 36HP, or 26HP at the wheel by some sites. But weighs only 360lbs wet and goes 0 to 60 in 5.75 seconds. A 2018 Ford Focus has 160HP max, weighs 2974 lbs, and 0-60 is 7.6. A Nissan Rogue used to be a 2.5L base, but now only a turbo 1.5L that they claim puts out 200HP (doubt it, and likely revved up to heaven), weights around 3700lbs, 0 to 60 also 7.5. Those are two of the most common cars in the world and show the typical 0 to 60 is 7.5 while Ninja 250 is under 6. Last time I checked, 5.75 is faster than 7.6 seconds. Factor in how much better a Ninja 250 corners and how much more fun, and no contest.

    I’ve very much decided I want a ninja 250 over a super sport for my first bike, mainly because the roads I love on are beyond horrible. Pot holes that’ll blow tires gravel everywhere, I need something light. But someone made a really good point yesterday. You ride a 250 you can have the throttle pinned through almost every gear, you can grab the brakes harder and it forgives you more than a super sport. But isn’t that a bad thing? Becoming a good rider is about muscle memory. Learning you give it more throttle and more brakes can put you in danger when you move up to a bigger bike. That and super sports have all their power top end. As long as you keep em below 10,000 the aren’t too bad from what I understand.

    It's actually good to be able to push your first motorcycle or first sport one at least. When you ll be good enough for litter bikes you ll know how to handle the power if you have the experience of pushing to its full potential a smaller sport bike. On the contrary not having any experience really going-off on a sports bike is what is dangerous. This is also the reason litter bikes are awful for beginners. They will never get to really ride them since they won't be able to control them.

    If the roads are really horrible, you shouldn't buy a sportbike at all, since they are made for smooth roads. You should get a light travel bike, maybe a BMW 400cc or something like that, in the mid-liter displacement, not too heavy to be unridable, not too light that you cannot get it into the highway. That's my penny.
