Disassemble the entire mower to remove blades.....or put it on jack stand and remove from the bottom...

Yeah, I usually jack up our mower and put it on at least two jack stands to clean the gunk out of the deck. I was going to take the deck off this time, but I could just use two more stands and give it a more thorough cleaning.
Anyway you could do a video on showing how to properly lubricate the parts on the zt2 mower, as directed to in part with the maintenance schedule??
If you decide to ignore this and just jack it up, remember about gravity. Always block the back wheels and if you can, use jack stands instead of just depending on the jack itself to hold it up. The more stands, the steadier (or that's how it's always worked for me.)
my z71 the bolt comes from under so nut is at top , belt has to be remove or relief belt tension , haven't done but i think will work.
great viiideo! helped alot :)
So on these 42" mower.. it doesn't matter how you install the blade? I sharpened and balance mine and it feels like I'm getting excess vibrations.
I think they show it this way because if someone puts it on an unstable jack - or even a stable on - if they have to use a lot of torque to loosen the nuts, the mower could come off the jack and injure or kill someone. I have a lawn mower lift specific for a zero turn, so changing from the bottom is, as you say, much easier. I have seen videos of people putting them up on a single jack stand. That could end badly. Anyway, for liability sake, they are showing the safest way to do it.

I usually have it on at least two jack stands. We picked up four from my late uncle's house when we were cleaning it out to sell. They're nearly new and really sturdy.
Why can’t you just go from underneath to change blades ?

you are correct. this is going around your ass to touch your elbow. I change mine from underneath with an impact. All 3 blades takes about 10 mins
I was afraid he would take half the engine off too 😂.. just go under guys really easy to do
why is nothing mentioned about the orientation of the blades when selecting how the blade goes on over the star shaped hole? Shouldn't the adjacent blades be installed 90 degrees or perpindicular to each other to keep them from hitting each other when spinning?

Late reply, but if you are still around, if you flip your deck over, you will see the 3 blades never actually intersect they are completely contained in their own area, just offset in a triangle
If you have an engine hoist and chain, it makes this work a TON EASIER...jack stands just never feel stable enough, nor give me the lift-height and stability I prefer to have while working on a giant piece of metal that has the potential to break an arm, leg, cranium, or worse.
There is absolutely no way I’m disassembling the entire mower just to change blades. I’m jacking the thing up and going underneath.
BELT REMOVAL NOT REQUIRED, REMOVAL OF LEFT COVER, YES . TAKE BELT OFF OF REAR DRIVE PULLEY.
Ditch the music , already!!!!!
this is terrible - not a good instruction

It's a liability thing. Cub Cadet cannot afford to say "lift it and get under there and loosen the blades..." in case some idiot lets the mower fall on them.
Awful video!
