Best video I've seen about removing a deck.

I've got 3 full seasons on our ZT2-54 and have had the deck off many times. But we just moved and the Cub manual is somewhere in all our stuff so came here and found this. Very well done video. Especially like reaching through from behind on the port side to pull the idler pulley and remove the belt. Thank you, sir.

Thanks for the video. I was unable to remove the belt by pushing on the pulley. But wait, there is an easier way!! Go to the right side of the mower and get a large channel-lock plier. Remove the spring. Re-assembly is also easy.

Wow I'm glad I found this video. The Operator's manual was SH*T! Mark makes it look really easy.

i just ran over one of the soft, expandable hoses & it's currently wrapped around the mower blades--i'll be def referring to this video to remove the deck 😂

This video was everything it needed to be and none of the extra stuff that some people add into instructional KZread videos because they think they are acting in a Steven Seagal movie.

My life has been pretty busy. I have 2 channels, My other channel is Oval RC.. I video radio control racing. I plan on doing a lot more tractor videos now that I finally figured out my new camera. Thanks for the positive feedback

How about put a couple of 2x4s under the deck, so minimum amount of paint get scratched off the bottom edge of the deck (from getting rusted and better protect the floor), also this mover is new so the deck hangers will stay up, but i bet No One messes with the deck until the mower has been used for several hours with all the hinges/hangers are less than perfect fit - LOL (depends on the quality etc.)...

Thanks very much for the video. I WANT to like this mower, but I still don't. I bought it a few months ago, and need to sharpen my blades. Pulling this deck isn't "hard", but I've certainly had mowers that were much easier. Just another reason I'll probably sell this one off.

Great walkthrough, thanks. I think I saw a way to simplify even further. It looks like you could push the idler pulley back from the top side through the floorpan hole and slide the belt off at that point. If so, that would save you from having to remove that spindle guard. I'll try that when I need to sharpen blades.

I have this exact model. Any advice why exactly the left and right levers for forward and reverse don’t match up off about 1/4 of an inch even after using the fine adjustments

I have the newer model ZT1 54" with the "S" Blades (490 110 C194) which are very expensive. I would like to swap out the 3 "S" spindles (618P09236) for the Star Spindle which offers a better selection of Blades at a much lower price. Like the Oregon 3 gator blade. They don't make any for the "S" blades. Any one know of a switch over spindle that will work?

My 54 inch is having trouble coming back down a steep hill? What cause it's that It makes a wine and noise in not easily to control

They could have added something to remove the belt like John deere. Absolute pain in the ass taking the deck off and I got the 50 inch deck.

How much does it cost to replace the whole deck with pulleys etc and where can I get one besides the dealer?

i just replaced my deck, and am stuck on replacing the idler pulley, when i attach it to the deck it does not seem to be very mobile (the pulley itself doesn't seem to spin). Any idea what I may be doing wrong?

Is it advised to remove the deck if you're using the snow plow?

You don’t have to remove the deck to remove and sharpen the blades. I just lift the front end and rest it elevated on 2 jack stands.
