    Great video. He records at a good volume unlike others who mumble thru the procedure and render them useless. I am looking for the gear removal video. This was half way there, I hope he offers one with the rest. Keep up the good work.

    Life saver! Thanks man this helped me out so much making a beach cruiser into a 2 stroke motorized bike and disassembling the rear tire and coaster brake to install the new sprocket and I didn't even realize I loosened the axle when doing so and ended up having an extremely wobbly wheel when riding it to make sure everything was working correctly. I overtightened the lock bolts to where it seemed to be okay and not loose then while riding it the bike went all to hell.

    Nice video...Great info. Great idea, On our coaster brake bike the hub is locked up. With the rim off the bike, If you turn the sprocket (in the correct direction) the brake spins around also. They seemed to be locked together. Not sure how I can get this apart (tried for a while and I cannot get the cone nut loose) as they are locked together really tightly. Any advice welcome how to get the hub apart. Thanks.

    I have just done this. I got it all to fit back after three tries. But now it doesnt turn as smoothly as it did. I can feel it kind of jerk sometimes when I spin it. It feels like a few ball bearings dont roll smootly. But this wasnt so before I disassembled it. Is it just a lack of grease? Im pretty sure I resassembled it right after the third try.

    can you convert a free bearing hub to cartridge bearing? by changing the axle style?

  • @matthewdezii

    @matthewdezii

    3 жыл бұрын

    You need an entirely new hub. I'd take that opportunity to get a whole new wheelset. There are bearings that have a little retainer, but it doesn't sound like that's what you are after.

    For some reason one of the nuts on my rear wheel is stuck and doesn’t thread in all the way while the other one on the cog does. Any suggestions?

  • @matthewdezii

    @matthewdezii

    It is either stuck because it wasn't greased, in which case, get a bigger wrench and hope you can force it, or it is cross-threaded, which means you'll need a new axle. Either way, I'd seek professional help.

    The one thing I needed to know he didn't show. Within the hub is the break system when I took my axle out a square type piece fell out of the housing and don't know how it goes back. I tried several times and it's not lock . It's almost feel like a freewheel. Now. Maybe next you show how to put the whole thing back together. Not just part of the job.

    Yep! It is a flip-flop hub. I could have two different gear ratios, or have a fixed side and a freewheel side. Not as easy as a derailleur, but if I need, I can stop and flip my wheel around and have more options.

  • @jcnredpizzawindow2219

    It’s a flip flop wheel one side is free wheeling and the other is fixed.

    All I can tell you is don't ride it until you fix it because it will only cost you more to repair or more damage will happen. You will stripn😂the axle and will not be able to take the lockmbolts off .. Don't ride it. This is what is happen to me.

    You'll have to thread the cone back on one side, and forward on the other. Go a bit at a time and check your work as you go

    I’m enjoying the bike so far kzread.infoUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA My only real complaints are the brakes and the pedals. I feel like a bike designed for bigger people should have much larger pedals and more heavy duty brakes. I’ve only gotten two really good rides out of it, minimal downhill action, and the brakes feel like they’re already going out. A larger person has more momentum, so I think this wasn’t thought through very well. Also, I wear size 13-14 wide shoes. My feet cramp up on these pedals that are clearly made for smaller feet. Since I’m not a pro rider (and I don’t think many are who purchase this bike) I don’t think that the straps on the pedal are necessary at all. None of this takes away from the enjoyment I get from riding, however. I’ll just head to a bike shop to improve on a few things.

    What size are the wrenches

  • @matthewdezii

    @matthewdezii

    Жыл бұрын

    13mm, 15mm, and 17mm are the sizes you are most likely to encounter. You'll likely need a cone wrench to do this instead of a regular box-end wrench, because the nuts are very shallow.

    Is it ok if I’m missing a barring

  • @matthewdezii

    @matthewdezii

    Missing a bearing is not the best. I would seek out a bike shop to see if they have some spare bearings for you. You can try ordering some, but identifying the correct diameter and material is very difficult.
