    I love how they show him continuously polishing the entire step and none of that timelapse bs other channels pull on you where they could be days between scenes and take it to a body shop. That was just so damn peaceful listening to the gentle whirr of the machine. Like for that

    A few weeks ago I purchased a two year old car that was covered in swirl marks. After watching a few of your videos I decided to take on this challenge. I purchased a PorterCable, 3 pads (Green, orange and the polishing pad) and a bottle of Vss. I started with the green pad in a small area, even though it removed some of the swirl marks I believed it could be better. Time to try the orange pad. To my amazement it removed all the swirl marks. The Leather cleaner and conditioner also works great. The car looks like new. Thank you.

    Great vid! I've been hesitant to try the all in 1 process vs. the traditional 3 step. You mentioned that with this that you achieve 95% paint correction. Which of your products would you recommend to use after this to get that last 5%?

  • @ChemicalGuys

    @ChemicalGuys

    6 жыл бұрын

    Hi Bret, that's a great question. The complete V Line series can be used to achieve an amazing mirror-like shine. VSS has the approximate cutting power of a compound like V34, then finishes like V36. Depending on the severity of damage and the softness of your particular paint finish, try using VSS, then refine extra gloss and shine with V38. Just remember one truth as you polish: You will not remove 100% of defects. It’s just not possible. Embrace the limitations of paint technology and polishing methods: accept that you can get paintwork to look as good as it possibly can without simply starting over with a new paint job. Thanks for watching, Bret, and stay tuned for a new video launching later today! www.chemicalguys.com/V_Line_Polish_Compound_Sample_Kit_4_oz_p/gap_vkit_04.htm

    Great video. Thank you for taking the time to show us. A couple questions. How much pressure do I put on the rotary tool as I'm buffing? And do apply anything to the paint afterwards? Sealant? Wax? Ceramic coating? Thank you.

    You want to apply 15 pounds of pressure on the tool. You can practice by putting tool on a scale and applying the correct down pressure.

    For all you armatures out there, myself included, this is not the end of the process. After the one-step is applied you must seal the applied wax. Once the wax is sealed, you must maintain the finish, by using a quick detailer at lest three times a month.

    Hi! Scratches and swirls are caused by improper washing, drying or touching of the paint. Using VSS will refine the clear coat and remove imperfections, as long as proper care is taken when handling the vehicle it will remain scratch-free. - CG Nick

    Hi Scott, good question. After removing the scratches and swirls from your car using VSS, we strongly recommend then protecting the finish with a protective coating, sealant, and/or wax. While we can't speak for other company's products, we can assure you that the durability and shine that you will get out of Carbon Flex C9 or Jet Seal will impress you and keep your car looking its best for the longest. Thanks for watching, Scott, and thanks for being a part of the Chemical Guys family! www.chemicalguys.com/JetSeal_16_oz_p/wac_118_16.htm www.chemicalguys.com/Carbon_Flex_C9_Protective_Coating_Kit_4_Items_p/wac227.htm

    QUICK TIP: To test the true smoothness of your newly detailed vehicle, take the plastic sylafane from a cigarrete pack and put two fingers inside to work as a little finger glove, swipe the surface and you can feel all the roughness, if any, and see how well the job was done. A detail job with use of a clay bar should help remove most of the dirt you can feel using the sylafane.

    I just bought the VSS product to remove swirls and scratches. Then I wondered, how aggressive is this product? I have a MB SL550 that's black. I don't have any swirl marks but I do have all of those fine scratches that probably come from washing the car over time. Those are what I want to remove. My concern is that this product might be as aggressive as say, rubbing compound. That's not what I want to use. So, I've ordered the product already. My thinking is that I can try it out on my truck first and see, but it would be nice to hear back from you. Also, I did watch your entire video. You seemed to spend a lot of time buffing that area you wanted to show us the contrast to the other side of the tape. I don't mind spending the time doing that at all. I was just curious if that's about the amount of time I should spend to.

    Hi Brian! Swirls and scratches are only caused when something touches the paint, if the vehicle is never touched it won't get scratched. Avoid swirls by using linear motions when touching the vehicle. Prevent scratches by always lubricating the surface before touching it. - CG Nick

I had to rewire the electric cable inside the housing today from the electric cable clamp being tight and I guess from so much use, but now working like brand new. Im assuming it’s from when I am using it I will throw the cable over my shoulder to keep it from the paint and it puts a bind in the wire. But I will buy another one when the time comes. They’re worth the money.
