Despite many attempts to remove the black boxes next to the application icon, none of the methods in other tutorials worked after a restart. Your tutorial was the only one that made me no longer have these black boxes for which I sincerely thank you!

I've watched like 6 tutorials on this issue that didn't work and this was the one that worked. Thank you so much.

Thank you so much! I tried a million other methods, and the ones that worked were only temporary solutions where the problem would return on the next reboot. But I restarted my computer multiple times after this and the icons are still fine!!! Thanks so much!!!

bro once i delete the shortcut from my homescreen, the icon still stays in that place, i cant right click on it, it acts just like blank space on the homescreen where refresh option comes. no matter what I do, the icon doesn't go away even after I right click and delete the shortcut link. if you created any string file under shell icons folder, delete that and follow the method in the video

have you created folder "shell icons" under Explorer folder as per video and downloaded blankicon ico file? and given the downloaded location address in the 29 string value data file? Finally you have to restart windows explorer from taskmanager Then also try this video - kzread.info/dash/bejne/lmhr1tWcqsibpJM.html

DO NOT GO WATCH OTHER KZreadR FOR THIS FIX Cause the other ones will show you long list of steps and yada-yidi that was unnecessary. Just follow this video and you should be good.
