Right! I'm sitting here watching like, he might as well just disassemble the entire car.
Who ever put this video up has really helped me a lot to understand how i need to take my center console out cause i had no idea how it all came apart mate you are a life saver thanks very much for your help.
I only needed to pop up the center console on my '05 G35 but your first instruction on removing the stick shift knob was very useful. Keep up the good work.
This helped massively in preparation to paint the interior trim in bayside blue to match the exterior. Putting it back together was easier than imagined too. Many thanks
very clear instructions, thank you. took me 30 mins to install my radio. only problem you'll have is the foam dash trim will damage a bit at the edge of top of the radio trim.
For my 2003 Infiniti G35 Sedan (111, 300 miles), no need to remove the 2 trim panels above the stereo and glove compartment. I spent the most time with removing the plugs / connections. I had HiTechElectronics repair the radio, AC/heater climate control buttons, and tape player. Although my CD player intermittently worked prior to the repair, Omar of HiTechElectronic said the CD player did not work any longer. I spent $225 for the repair of the power connections + shipping + tools (i.e. stereo removal kit that includes panel remover from Walmart) = $323. I chose not to repair the CD player since I can use my nano or iPhone via FM radio blue tooth transmitter. I hope the repairs lasts for a while or until I buy my next new car. Thanks a lot Omar for the repairs and HiTechElectronic for the video tutorial.
As I'm watching this I'm glad my ashtray issue will take less than a minute to fix but damn that CD changer...
I think I'll take mine to a audio place... I did my Mazda Millenia by myself. It was so easy. With the G takes SO MUCH MORE.
Yes, it is repairable. Please check our website or call 800-580-3376 and send only your radio/cd player to us for repair.
thanks for the detailed description and thorough walk-through. I'm replacing this unit with an AVIC + metra kit but funny thing is as soon as I pulled it out a bit from the dash it started working. Must be a loose connection, no? Either way this sucker is getting replaced!
You guys are great! Thank you for posting this how to video. I have the exact model and I'm about to install an ipod converter. Thank you very much.
Please check our web site or contact us by phone 818-785-8085
So whatever i said is possible right? changing the dash kit and aftermarket radio will fix the ac/stereo freeze problem. Thanks again for your professional advice. I am going to use your video to remove the factory stereo.
Great video! Helped tremendously!
You get this error because the CD mechanism is faulty and needs to be repaired but we do not know anyone overseas. You could ship it to us if you could not find any service center locally.
Thank you so much for making a DIY video!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! I bought my G35 04, with a bad CD player, i use the tape (tape 2 mp3) but im scared that the unit might give out anyday.
In the near future. Thanks,
Great video, thanks! Would you be able to make a howto for removing the navigation dvd player above the glove compartment in the 04 G35?
Wow! did not know I had all that work to look foward too.
if you say I would need to buy a new stock radio or get mine fixed means the problem is with the radio so why won't installing a new radio fix the problem ?
God damn now im thinkin twice about this shit

ya me too...i "burned cds" for the first time in forever. never thought id have to do that shit ever again.
You could do it, but you also need to replace the A/C control panel as well with an after market unit.
Hey so do you know any aftermarket navi/dvd player that can fit that top pocket under the clock an can pop up like the original navi do or do u have them for sale at your store online
great vid man!! keep up the good work and hope you stay busy! thanks!
You need complete wiring harness, display unit and the navigation drive unit. I would suggest a portable navigation unit.
I had CD problems myself on my 04 G Coupe where the CD gets stuck, all i did to fix this problem was held down the Eject button for under a min and the CD came out, happen to me twice and worked for me both times. I was having the same error message just like everyone else, try holding down the Eject button for a while see if it works for you like it did for me.
@HiTechElectronic is this a sedan or coupe or is the set up the same in both?
THANKS!! This video was a big help!!!!
AC would would work fine after the repair. Please check our website for prices.
Hey will the Ac not stay on full power if repair the control panel and how much do you charge?
Problem is in the CD section of your radio and it can be repaired. If you decide to replace the radio with the after market unit, you need to replace your A/C control with the after market unit as well.
The problem is in your radio and you only need to send your radio for repair not the A/C panel. Please visit our website to get the quote.
Great video man! I learned a lot from this.
hello any way you can do a vid on a mercedes c class 2002 up
Thanks for the tutorial. Awesome video!
Hey bro can you do a video about how to remove that headunit thing above the glove box area please
Hi, My radio and AC controls on the center panel are not working. The radio works if I use the wheel controls. I read online and it seems it's a common issue on 2003/2004 G35's. The integrated board (AC and radio) gets damaged. Do you guys repair the board? If so, then how much?
@HiTechElectronic I cannot move the gear back from Park because it is stuck. Is there any other way I can take off the console? Or the circular plate under the gear? I need to access the shift lock button to try and put the car in reverse/neutral. (Battery has died)
I have a 2003 G35 coupe, intermittently the ac/stereo freezes where the ac blows at full speed and stereo wont stop at high volume no matter what i do. Do you think that if i put an aftermarket headunit, it fixes the problem?
@HiTechElectronic my a/c goes full blast with no control and radio doesnt work, so if I replace both of them will the problem be fixed FOR SURE?
Just unplug the battery in the car and plug it back in, it might help to reset the CD mechanism. If that does not work, then you need to take it to your local electronic service center or ship it to us for repair.
A/C can not be controlled if the radio does not function at all or if it has been removed. Normally A/C stays on one setting.
@HiTechElectronic Actually it could be. IF you removed the battery, the engine might need to relearn the idle. BTW, thanks for the vid. I was comfused when i got to the glove box. LOL.
Can I change the radio for a more modern one?
how much you guys charge to repair the stereo ? if is the cause of the inop buttoms and ac on all the time ?/ thanks
The problem is either the radio or your amplifier. You could send it to us for repair or take it to your local service center.
This was a great video. Thanks
hey would you be able to repair a g35 2003 cd player the radio volume fades out
Is there a way on the 2004 Infiniti coupe to take the manufacture cd player out an change it out to a better deck
It is not simple, but you could try.If not successful, sell it back on craigslist. Keep in mind that you are buying an eight years old technology. For navigation purposes a portable Garmin GPS has more feature.
The problem is the radio but if you want to replace it with an after market radio, then you need to change the A/C control unit as well. The easiest and cheapest way is to have your radio repaired.
You do not need to replace either of them. Just have your radio repaired and that would take care of both problems.
Excellent video!
You need to have your CD changer repaired. If you could not find any service center locally then you could ship it to us for repair.
That is right.
Question: I have a "power supply" issue, with no radio working, no control over the AC. (AC is stuck on full blast, ice cold!) Once the head unit is removed, can the vehicle still be driven? Will the a/c continue to blow on the "stuck" setting? or will the entire climate control system not work until teh radio is reconnected? Thanks!
Try disconnect the power for the radio or just unplug the battery for couple of minutes, if it did not fix the problem then you need to have your CD Player repaired.
So its not worth the upgrade of the navigation system theirs a guy on craigslist selling the whole unit for 300 an the glove box with the dvd player I want to do a complete swap will it be to hard what I need to do
I have a 2002 Expedition XLT it has the 6 cd changer but it's not part of the stereo itself it's in the middle part of the car and I have to open the compartment to change the cds. Is there a way to change it?
How bout if I want to install a navigation stock G35 system what will I need
Hey help I removed my cd player and dropped it of at the shop but as I was driving back the heater turned on full blow. How do I turn it off??
We do not sell any navigation. Please check with your local car stereo shops.
If i send you my OEM/Factory Dash Kit would be posible For you to modify to fit am LCD stereo withou cuting the A/C
thanks for the tutorial!
Sup Cholo thanks for taking your time man, I'm working on changing my right this moment following your instructions, hope all is well 👍
I have a question on an Infiniti G35 2004 if it has only Am fm cd changer stock radio is it possible to use a stock radio with Navigation System?
@HiTechElectronic
10 жыл бұрын
It is possible but not cost effective. Also why would you install a navigation system which is a 10 years old technology.
great video! thanks buddy!
I have a "power supply" issue, with no radio working, no control over the AC. It seems like this is a common issues with Infiniti, is it possible to repair this?
The G35 & 350Z have totally different Radio & A/C system.
Can I swap a stock radio to stock navigation 04 g35 sedan
How do I remove glove box and change cabin air filter/bulb.
Do you think it’s a good idea to spray paint the plastic trim pieces ?
@HiTechElectronic
6 жыл бұрын
The paint will come off and gets dirty. You should be able to find a good used trim on ebay.
great guide. thank you.
OMG. Thats a lot of work for something simple, Fucck That.
After market radios do not work with your A/C panel. Only Stock radio would do that.
Unplug the battery in the car and plug back it in to see if the changer reset itself. If it is still jammed then you need to have it repaired.
Look at 997604 - METRA 99-7604 Recessed DIN Mount Silver I think it does retain the functionality of the ac.
My 04 G35 stereo sounds like its has static and then suddenly stops playing its still on but wont play for a while is that something you guys can fix?
Wow all that oil to fry one egg. Could Infinity had made it more difficult to take out a stereo?
Yes, we could repair it.
All I want to do is put carbon fibre wrap on the plastic part! This is an epic procedure!
youre a god. thanks.
@justlooking1115 did u get a answer for this? i was wondering the same thing
We have not seen any of them coming back after being repaired properly.
what oo you do if your cd player is jame & want eject cds. i have a g35 smart car my cigarette lighter is in a different spot. It seems that infinti wants to charge $700 for a replacement radio. saying it cant be repaired. I dont want to spend no money on buying a new radio or installing a differrent one it has to be a way to un jame the cd changer. Infinti made a mistake putting that cd change in the radio ..
My cd player just says eject disk... But it never will. I was told to find the cd changer and hit the reset button. Is this true? Please help. I'm on Pittsburgh pa and the radio stations suck here!!! Lol
Hey buddy is there any wey if i can cut my OEM factory dash kit intead of buyin a Metra Kit?
@HiTechElectronic

Without the kit A/C won't work.
@techtron2376

HiTechElectronic Who cares anyway just roll down the windows
can you just replace the screen?
Installing after market radio won't solve the problem. You need to buy a new original radio or have yours fixed.
How did I know it was going to be so much crap? Everything on my infiniti is going around the block to get next door.
It that Ish" from West Coast Custom...
Thanks
That will do it but not just replacing the radio.
Disconnect the battery in the and plug it back in, hopefully that would reset the radio.
It is always good to turn the power off but if you have to leave it on, it is fine.
i have a infiniti g35 the radio stopped working so we unistalled it and when we put it back now the car wont turn on ?
@HiTechElectronic

+Jocelin Limon The radio has nothing to do with starting the car. Your battery might have been discharged during the removal.
Hey will this work for Nissan Skyline V35 250GT 300GT 350GT Sedan/Coupe?? Please?

AP499D25 these ARE 350gt Skylines. Infiniti is just a brand Nissan uses for their luxury cars here in N. America.
Dose anyone know why my g35 won't let me insert a cd?
Your CD Changer is broken and wont accept the discs. You need to have it replaced or repaired.
Buttons won't fit.
