Super helpful. I'm a novice DIY-er and I was able to remove the stereo/finisher in under an hour (having never attempted anything like this before). After removing the stereo/finisher, I was able to solder the fried connections (described in another video) and got the stereo/climate working again! Thanks to these folks for posting this video!

Factory Car Stereo Repair: I had similar problems for my 2003 Infiniti G35 sedan (111,300 miles). 13 years old, but it's really 14 years old based on the manufactured date of June 2002. Thanks for all the directions. They helped a lot.

I highly recommend this business. I had the problem of controls for air conditioner and radio not working on the center console, but radio controls on the steering wheel did work. They repaired my radio for $345 plus shipping. Dealer wanted over $1,000. Quick turnaround too.

I'm plucking up the courage to attempt this job. This video will make it a whole lot easier - thank you! (ps: with all these commonly known faults, that is stereo, seats and windows, Nissan should have done something about it)

martin w sometimes i think Nissan did it on purpose. Just check the price of parts. Nissan are cheap to buy compared to other reliable Japanese cars such as Honda and Toyota but their parts.... man, super expensive. A lot of brittle materials.

Thanks mate, it's hard to know when something should pop off or has something more substantial retaining it. This helped plenty.

What if you have a fully loaded one with navigation on the top that pops up?

I have a 2003 g35, the radio had been turing off intermittently, then the radio and the controls for the ac have both gone out, did you indicate that the ac controls are tied to the radio?

We are able to add an "Aux-in" to this stereo in shop. Provide an 1/8 inch jack for input.

Hello guys, EXCELLENT video!!! I just purchased an 2004 Infiniti G35 sedan and I absolutely love the car. However the CD Player in it doesn't work. Unfortunately it doesn't have any of the common display errors like your video or other posts I have found show. Mine simply doesn't accept discs. I click load and it says "select CD" and none of the buttons below work. But I know the buttons work because they work with the radio. Do you think your recommendation of disconnecting the battery for a few minutes would reset it in to working again?

Buy doing this can you replace with a different head unit for mp3/AUX capabilities

this disassembly is for the AC and radio. Most of those steps are unnecessary if you want to remove the radio itself

So disconecting the battery will reset the CD changer cause thats the issue im having

Hey I got an 04 g35 coupe, when I first start it up, all speakers play just fine, but after about 30 seconds, both front speakers stop working, sometimes they randomly come back on for a short time then go back out. A few side notes, yes I do have my music up a bit with a good amount of bass, and also my radio has no display and I can't use the buttons on my radio to control it, I have to use steering wheel radio controls. Main issue is my speakers not working, anyone have a clue?

I had a Ford probe. To get the radio out there were too tiny holes in the front of the unit. Push in a tool and pull the unit out.

I can't turn of my AC and none of the stereo buttons respond (I can't turn it on) so my question is, if I unplug everything and reconnect them, is it going to help the problem?

You want to repair/replace the CD changer? No problem! All we need to do is disassemble the ENTIRE CABIN then we can access the sterio! Gotta love modern car design. I just want to get my CDs out of my dead sterio before I sell the damn car.

The radio in my 2004 Infinity G35 Sedan (144K) intermittently stops working, although the digital aspects turn on (volume increase, station change, CD, switch to Sirius via AUX and cassette player) and when it plays, the volume indicator can be raised/lowered with no audio change. All this can be done from controls on radio as well as steering wheel. When not working and I turn on radio there is a short static sound. The dealership wants $358 to replace a board. They say it is only the board for the stereo since climate control is not effected. What parts do I need?

Had same issue except my radio/ac controls when out, took radio apart found finisher bored r508 r509 and r510 power supply resistors to have old soder break loose im assuming from heat or 15 years of being in my 03 but anyways cleaned and re sodered connections and BAM bose sound again. Just a FYI

hello I am from Japan, bought a skyline g35 2004 infiniti g35 the same my cd player to normal functioning, more then gave this error told me that if you took the battery cable it back to normal, I went over it with the same problem, if I disconnect these cables equal to the video, he can go back to normal?

christian aguilar who spoke to you that is not? the Infiniti is the luxury brand of Nissan that sends to other countries u can search on google about skyline g35 that will appear the same car as well as the toyota celsior is the lexus LS400 will first study or research a little before u come here and speak such a thing

christian aguilar Everywhere else beside North America I believe, our Infiniti G35 is the Nissan Skyline GT350. He is from Japan, so his car is a Skyline.

Is there anyone that can help me with this issue? I had all of the issues that were stated at the beginning of the video. I cannot for the life of me find a radio replacement that isn’t over $300 and are aftermarkets that need special kits which cost even more. I’m trying to sell my Infiniti G35 2003 but the radio doesn’t work at all and the air is stuck on 75 on full blast. I can’t turn it off at all and the radio won’t turn on or off. Steering controls don’t work either. Whole thing just busted on me. This is beyond frustrating for me, I’ve taken this whole thing apart and can’t find the issue. Dealer was out of their mind and said they’ll replace it for me for $1100 and it will be a refurbished one! Not even a brand new radio.

Unfortunately that is the case with these cars now. I have an 03 get and original parts from the factory are too expensive to keep cost management down. It's really either you take the old head unit (radio) to a electrical repair store and see if they can refurbish your existing unit keeping your cost down. This would allow you to fix the radio situation yourself. As for the AC this sounds like a problem with the thermostat and a possible control board malfunction. These components will most likely need replacing and will not be able to be refurbished by anyone around besides the factory which will readily or should readily have refurbished parts on hand. I would do the radio yourself if you know what you are doing inside and out of the vehicle. If not get a professional to do it or sell it as is and take the losses. It's a shitty situation and there's no way around it.

Try a junk yard.... I found one for 35 dollars at LKQ Pick Your Part. 🙂 not sure where your located but they have a few locations.
