Well I used your tip yesterday to pull the crank pulley off of my Silverado's 5.3 Vortec. The old bolt trimmed down coupled up with the right puller took the crank pulley off in a flash, easiest one I've ever done!..the hardest part of the job was the beginning part of cutting the flange off of the old hardened steel crank bolt. It took my cut off tool, Dewalt reciprocating saw with metal blade, vise and a hammer..along with girl arms and hands with a bit of unladylike under the breath salty mechanic language lol. Might have been easier for a man, but to use your words a "Jonah" of a pain for me lol Got her done tho ;-) Anyone out there who thinks this man doesn't know what he's talking about, shaddap, listen and learn lol. Thank you SOOOO much for posting this video!! :-)

Thanks for the video man, i rented the Chrysler Mitsubishi puller from O'reillies and it worked like a charm. As far and cutting the flange off the big bolt - I just lopped off the flange sides with a Sawzall aith a Diablo blade and judicious use of cutting oil (just used ATF). Worked great.

I am fixing to change out my oil pump (yes, me..a girl lol ) on my 05 Chev Silverado 1500 ext. cab long bed with a 5.3 Vortec engine. Having watched your awesome video , I went to Oreilly's auto parts today and bought a brand new replacement crank pulley bolt so I can trim down the old one and try this method with my three jaw puller..I really appreciate you sharing and posting this, I am sure (hopefully) it'll work for me just as easy! girl got air tools! lol :-)

I definitely find your videos helpful, especially this one. I have to say this with as much respect as is humanly possible..I watched this video in amazement, it was just awesome. It was like a young Muhammad Ali was teaching me a new mechanical trick! lol..you look just like him and even act a little bit like him lol..he had such great humor and heart! :-) It's a true compliment, trust me. He was just an all around great man and I admired him immensely :-) Thank you for involving the ladies as well. It doesn't surprise me that you have a following of the DIY girls. I'm quite the renaissance girl myself..I'm as feminine as they come but not afraid to shoot a gun or get dirty and turn wrenches etc. as well. I may change my trucks oil then go in an hour later and fry chicken lol. Have a blessed day and keep on printing the words "CRANK PULLEY" on your vids when you say crank..cracked me up lol. Get yourself some tea and I'll chat with you another time! lol. Gotta go out and get busy on this engine ;-)

You're welcome :) well let's hope those dimes start rolling in then! lol. It's not so much a hobby for me these days as it is necessity. I had to learn a little something about cars and trucks because I can't cough up all of that money that shops want to repair my vehicles that I make a living with. I would much rather invest in tools and knowledge. I'm pretty mechanically inclined anyway so why not?..I can always back up and punt if I get in trouble or over my head. No worries, and always a pleasure Sir :)
