    Thanks Derrick. This is awesome and easy. They were going to charge me $230+. Since I have the tools, I have to spend just the cost of the plugs. I'm sure this video may have saved hundreds of thousands of dollars for common folks.

    I love your videos to help me keep my 2001 Elantra running well. Great camera work, detailed explanations for the non-mechanic, and keeping it focused on the point of the video (like speeding up the repetitive parts instead of just chattering about nothing). I'm not here to watch a talking head, I'm here to see some car maintenance! Excellent work! +1

    Most spark plugs come pre-gapped, make sure you ask at the auto parts store. If not, there is a gap tool they sell for a dollar you can get. I dont have a video on how to gap them right now but there are plenty good ones on youtube I am sure. GL

    Looks like there are no tricks to lifting the spark plug connectors. I'll go back and try again, pull harder and wiggle them as i did. Used to use a service manual 20-30 years ago - looks like You tube, Bing, Google, plus guys like you, is what it takes these days. Thanks for posting.

    i'm having trouble starting my 2001 Tiburon and thought it might be a spark issue since the battery seems fine and and it seems to want to start but just wont turn over. the engine light just came on but it ran for a few weeks before this issue occured. could a bad spark plug be the reason for this? (side note: we successfully jumped it once but it took some time and once again it didnt sound like a battery issue: just not enough crank or something) hopefully u can shed some light on it.

    Very helpful. Have a 2011 and the only difference is that the parts that you pulled by hand were held by a 10mm bolt and another hard plastic piece was similarly bolted the same way. First time with changing spark plugs and it couldn't have been easier. Thanks.

  • @myRatchets

    @myRatchets

    9 жыл бұрын

    ronnie horn Its not a bad engine as long as it was well maintained. Timing belt, water pump and the thermostat must be replaced on time. Over all the car is average as far as reliability, some electrical problems but its hit or miss. You might be better off buying a Toyota Camry or Corolla if you want something more reliable. GL
