Hello Toyota Tundra lover! We have a special place in our hearts for the Tundra. This was our "shop" truck when first started. We still use it now and again and love the reliability and comfort of this truck. You want to keep your truck pretty and we're here to help with that. Fenders are usually a pretty straightforward job and this Toyota is no exception. This particular customer has a dent on the body line of the fender that also took the paint off. The fender liner is a bit of a pain but we'll show you to do this DIY job.
TOOLS NEEDED:
You will need a wrench or socket wrench (10mm), Philips screwdriver, flat head screwdriver, needle nose pliers, and wire cutters.
INSTRUCTIONS:
First, you, have to remove the grille, and to do so requires removing the AC/radiator cover. Very easy job to do, simply remove the clips and bolts holding the cover to the frame and grille. The grille is very large on the Tundra and is only held on by clips that mount into the truck frame. Pull the grille out while keeping it level. You do not want to break any clips by angling the grille. Pull it straight out.
Next, move to the fender filler, or sometimes it is called the headlight filler. It is the panel below the headlight that acts as a spacer between the fender and the bumper. The fender filler is what covers the bumper bracket or retainer. You do have to remove the headlight as well. The headlight is attached to the bumper bracket that is attached to the fender. The headlights are pretty large and are also attached to the bumper bracket. Once you have unplugged the headlight, you can move to the bumper bracket.
The last steps are to remove the fender bolts. We started with the bottom of the fender or the mudguard. This is where the extension comes in handy for the socket. The hardest part is also removing the plastic clips that run along with the fender liner. It is possible to remove them without breaking them but it requires a lot of work. We recommend just cut them off and replace them with new ones. They are inexpensive from Toyota. There is one hidden bolt behind the fender liner and one between the door hinge from inside the cab. The last remaining bolts are on top of the fender and you can now remove that ugly broken fender.
Easy-peasy! You can now call yourself a "car-person." We hope you remembered what you just did because to install the fender, you only need to work backward. Visit us for your newly painted fender, the link is above or below!

I had a palm tree come down on my LF fender and through the windshield from hurricane Ian. I just got the windshield done and, believe it or not, found a used fender IN MY COLOR 😀in Clearwater, FL. I was hoping there was a video describing this and damn if there wasn't. THANKS!

Thanks, this helped me locate some parts for a rebuild. FYI Powertools would have helped and those cheap Harbor Freight retainer clip removers - saves a lot of plastic clips from getting mangled by pliers

Thank you for watching. Hopefully the alignment isn't too bad on the fender. That may mean the body is bent somewhere or the hood slightly shifted. The best way is to adjust the screws until you get the desired spacing. I hope that helps and we'll get that install footage up.

Those fender tabs come out real easily. Just work the tabs using an interior tab removal tool and they'll pop right out w/o breaking them. No need to cut, no need to wrench on them.

We don't have a video for that one. Most fenders have generally the same bolts in the same spots. It is probably easier than this fender. Thanks for watching.
