My 64 gb SD card was corrupted and a local company wanted over £150 to recover it. I listened to your video yesterday so I got recoverit today and I recovered everything. I've been working with computers in Los Angeles since my first TRS-80 in 1979. I can also vouch for what Josh is saying. I've used Recoverit, and it's good, easy to use, and can often recover lost files which I have recovered personally for my own photos and KZread videos. To be clear: It's not a matter of IF your SD or hard drives will fail, but WHEN. They will fail, and how disastrous it is for you depends on how well covered you are and whether or not you practice good data redundancy as Josh explains in the beginning of the video, e.g., dual SD cards, use smaller SDs, don't put all your footage on one massive SD, etc. Recoverit takes a long time to go through the SD card, but be patient and it will usually find stuff. Sit it out--- learn from the experience, and get coffee, which by the way... nice coffee mug. 😉

A bit pricey knowing there's a lot of free softwares out there but you just saved me a big migraine and it was way quicker than expected to recover my files. Thank you!

Their pricing plan is ridiculously expensive, I simply recovered my videos with the Recuva free version after i formatted the SD when i thought I copied everything to my hard disk. And out of gratitude I bought the full version, which it really is no different from the free one.

Thanks for sharing 😀 I now double-confirmed that I lost my footage😅 after you said when you have formatted your SD card it's GUARANTEED that you've erased all the footage😅 I did, luckily I had another second shot in place that I could use. By any chance, have you had any Sony SD cards on your Sony? It looks like if you delete (not sure if you actually format from the camera) you can still recover your footage with the Sony Rescue Software, just for Sony SD Cards. Have you tried it before? Has any one tried it before? Because it seems that is just Sony the only one that really erases EVERYTHING from the SD card to guarantee constant R&W speeds on the SD Card for longer. I'd appreciate any hints on this from any Sony filmmakers in the community. Cheers!

Is it possible to repair the video plus it's audio?, this is after recovering footage from a formatted SD card and the video files(mov.) aren't playing and after repairing it with wondershare, the videos are repaired without their audio, so is their a way to recover/repair both the video and it's audio?

Hey, so I recently had my Sony a7iii display an "it couldn't display images error." I went into the camera and selected Recover image DB. Instead of recovering the files, the files are no longer there. Is this an issue you've seen and can the images be recovered? BTW, this is w/ a 128 SD card, SMH.

Hi, I made a a video on my Nikon D3300 today and I wanted to transfer the video to my Galaxy tablet with an external USB adapter that reads SD cards but it didn't show any video's only photos. And my tablet asked to format my SD card, I didn't think it through so I just went with it AND now I have lost my video's... can I somehow recover my files now that my SD card has been formatted? And do I use a computer to see my video's instead?

Personally, I prefer 128gb or higher so I don't have to change the SD card in the middle of a shoot (especially when I am filming a speaker) Because then you lose those few minutes of the speech.

I have a question that is not related to this video, I recently bought a Sony a6400 w/18-135mm and the lens focus turns into blur at times and wouldn’t come back 😭 Is that mean that my lens is broken ? 💔

Had the same problem after shooting a music video, we couldn't do the shooting again. I tried out a free version of a recovery software and it could find the files, but you had to buy the software to recover. You can belive me I was happy to give them the 35 Euro and got my files back. The SD-card I used was almost new and it was not a no name product - you never can be sure ...

It's important that everyone here know that when you delete or format your data is still very recoverable. HOWEVER, every time you store a new file on the SD card, it overwrites the previous data still present in the background. The longer you use the card before attempting recovery, the poorer your chances of actually retrieving your data are. Therefore, make sure that you stop using the SD card until you have recovered your files. If you have used your card a lot since your format or delete, don't buy this is or any software. Your stuff is gone.

I formatted my camera's SD card (128 gigabytes) and I lost 2000+ photos and 200 videos!!! Now I can't live without those precious photos and videos !

Got the software and the images but they won't open, is there a fix to this??

I had a situation three weeks ago where one of my external hard drives went into raw mode. I lost one entire wedding. I bought two seperate recovery programs and was able to save half of the event. I figured out why my drive went into raw mode. The culprit was a stupid cheap chinese dual external drive.

So, what's the catch? What's the file size limit before you need to pay?

Used the software to try to retrieve my messed up photos from a camera. It pulled the same amount of files I did, but did not remove the corruption. I think this was my misunderstanding and not the software's issue. Just throwing that out there so somebody else doesn't do the same thing I did and waste money.

I thought it was the most expensive mistake of my life, to recover 16 files for 60 dollars but my most expensive mistake was mi ex, I lost my most valuable asset , my time. 60 dollars saved my job and my time :) thank youuuu

I had just finished all my photos for school tomorrow and I plugged it into my laptop and it said it needed be reformatted

I dont think its possible to recover data formatted in-camera, even if you dont shoot over the card. I have had zero success doing this.

Change your clickbait title. Your title says one thing, and you say that a formatted card is not recoverable.

I'm a Japanese, but it is a heavy user of Wondershare. So, I have of course also Recoverit. lol. But Recoverit is not perfect like other similar software. It is better to think that about 90% can salvage.
