Dead blow hammers have metal pellets inside that move around and when the hammer hits something, all the pellets go forward and create a dead blow. This allows the hammer to impact and not bounce back like a rubber mallet. If that doesn’t make sense there is quit a few good videos on how they work

You can use the axle it's self to seat the driver side bearing into the shell. Once the bearing is seated just pull the axle out, flip it around, install from the non driver side, reinstall and tighten hardware.

It sounds like you need some vice grips for those axle nuts. If you 100% can’t get them loose you may have to use a cut off wheel and cut them. Trying to avoid hurting the threads

Great vid. I'm a dinosaur though, on my singlespeed DMR I still run a thread on freewheel. When the ratchet track eventually wears out I just unscrew it and screw a new one on. I get a long way out of my ACS freewheels as I strip and rebuild them once a year though I wonder what happens when the ratchet ring on a cassette hub wears? Can you get replacements? Can you fit them yourself? I learned a lot about cassette hub through this vid as I've never really tackled one. I had an Odyssey Hazzard cassette on my Standard Cashius back when 39/14 was the thing (showing my age again) but never needed to open it up.

I would very much doubt it, unless you have access to a machinist who can make the shell fit a sealed bearing. But even then the chances of it working are pretty slim. You’d be better off finding a used hub. I’ve seen used profile hubs sell for 40$ before

Not in profile/madera rear hubs. They are designed to function dry. If you use anything, it should only be a tiny amount of clear oil on the pocket where the pawl sits so that it can move freely.
