    I walk around in the U.S. with a SPF umbrella and people look at me like I’m weird, but people compliment me on my skins all the time.

    My only problem with this videos is that there is no follow up on the reapply of sunscreen cuz you have to do it more that just once. I used a liquid tinted sunscreen as my base 2 hours later I reapply sunscreen with a compact sunscreen (it didn’t look bad) 2 hours later I did it against and it looks extremely bad and that was just the 3rd reapplication, the whole thing looks heavy on your face and cakey, so how am I supposed to keep reapplying this all day if you are outdoors. It makes me sad because I want to take care of my skin but it’s harder than in seems

    That’s a good point and maybe for a future video I can reapply it throughout the day every 2-3 hours like a vlog style. Truthfully though I work from home and rarely sit under direct sunlight for longer than 2 hours at a time so I don’t usually need to reapply every 2-3 hours. However if I’m out and about on a weekend maybe I will get more sun exposure. Good idea for a future vid!

    Honestly, idk how anyone reapplies every single 2 hours. It’s not realistic. I do my best because I have melasma and have to wear my sunscreen all the time. But layer upon layer OVER makeup feels nasty after all those layers not to mention I feel like it can potentially give you breakouts after all those layers. Sigh. The struggle is so real. 😭

    idk if this will help y’all, but try using a cushion for your sunscreen!! yes you’ll waste more trying to get an adequate and even distribution, but i find it to help from getting to gunky or smearing whats underneath. just take any cushion, put your sunscreen on the back of your hand, and viola !

    Tell me about it. I am a black woman who is allergic to the sun due to my particular hypothyroidism level and any sunscreen that I wear in general leaves a white cast on my face so then I use a tinted moisturizers which make me feel like I’m wearing foundation and it’s heavy during the summer on my skin. Then putting powder on top of it to tone down some of the shininess, or oiliness, or heaviness on top of the white cast then spraying my face later for continuous coverage that I have to have is just time-consuming, a mess, and just a nightmare. Plus, no matter which sunscreen I use I always end up being able to taste the product even though I carefully avoid my mouth. The thing that sucks is I’ve always loved swimming. I’ve gone swimming my entire life since I can remember, but I developed the hypothyroidism and allergy at age 17, so it is either slather myself and All this group just to take a dip in the pool or just avoid the activity altogether.

    Honestly, in a conditions where I need to reapply every two hours (like hiking, day at the park) I’d skip makeup for sure. I don’t think that a way to apply 3-4-5 decent layers of sunscreen over makeup exists.

    I use a collapsible hand fan after spraying the Kate Somerville spray on my face so I can breathe and it really helps😅. With the on the go powder, I shake it upside down to get powder buildup onto the brush before applying, then dab it all over my face instead of sweeping motions.

    I’m using Orbis Sunscreen compact for touch up, which is small and easy to bring everywhere. Some others I bought are Biore sunscreen mist; as well as a brush on powder tube. Oh yes, Skinbetter I have that compact as well, but I applied using brush instead of that sponge ☺️

    you applied the boj sunstick not long after applying the isdin spf powder, i would assume that that is the reason why it pilled. using a sunstik first and then an spf powder on top sounds would work beter according to my thinking ;)

  • @TeawithMD

    @TeawithMD

    Жыл бұрын

    I agree that sunstick first and then spf powder would probably cause less pilling; the sun sticks are waxier and stickier so using them as a bottom layer makes sense. Unfortunately the sun stick can still take off foundation though, regardless of powder being under it or not!

    Isn’t SPF only effective if it’s directly next to your skin, so it can be absorbed? I have heard that it doesn’t work on top of other products since it cannot absorb.

    No, or it wouldn't be testable in vitro; it is effective as far as sun-protection goes straight out of the bottle before it even touches your face.

    i don't see how applying spf with a beauty blender is supposed to work. we're supposed to apply 1.25ml MINIMUM every time (which you didn't) and a lot - if not the majority - of the product was absorbed by the sponge. this is a VERY unreliable method.
