    great, I got the answer to the question I had, thanks! And as far as I understand, the 'Y' sound is like an 'I' but a bit more blunt? Like the Russian "Ы" sound I guess

    Actually both of them are pronounced the same, the difference is only in the written form. And of course, 'I' affects the preceding consonant while 'Y' doesn't.

    My dear friend, being Polish, it is given that I could learn your language quickly. Not all words are the same, but other than what I call ac cent words, we write, read, and say our language the same. It is the translation for some that is different.

    @@ladislavmasopust9017 You're so right! Although, I speak English language, it was the hardest. Our languages have those little accents, which change our pronunciation, but that us easy. The languages thant have reading, writing, pronunciation , I can read it, but have to look some words and their meaning.

    Hi. Great video. Thank you very much. I have a question. What is happening to " jí " combination in " vynikající "? It sounds like the " j " sound is skipped and you just pronounce í. Thank you.

  • @ladislavmasopust9017

    @ladislavmasopust9017

    Hey! You're right, however, it's not always like this. Basically "j" disappears in "jí" in the middle of a word if it is preceded by a vowel (vyjímka, zajíc). However it is pronounced, although very slightly, at the beginning of a word. "Jíst" a "íst" (non-existent word) would sound different. Like yeast and east. A similar thing happens in the middle of a word after a consonant, although it's much less noticeable, so it almost disappears (objímat, objíždět), I guess in this case it really depends on an individual way of pronouncing these words.
