How to quickly and easily peel a pineapple

In Vietnam we are graced with the "honey pineapple", which as its name suggests is very sweet and delicious. It also happens to be quite a bit smaller than the pineapples you might see in the grocery stores in western countries, so paring the pineapple in a way that spares the maximum fruit is very important.
My mother and grandmother taught me to pare pineapples this way and I think it's very easy, quick and provides the most usable fruit. It also shapes the pineapple in a way that is fun to eat!
Please be careful when cutting towards your hand. I had to learn over the years just how much pressure it takes to cut the eyes out but not go through to my hand. Take it slow and use the minimum pressure required and you will soon be cutting the pineapple just like me!
