HOW TO PROPERLY TIME A TOYOTA CELICA: Timing a 1ZZ Toyota Engine

    So I noticed in your video your dots didn't line up on your camshaft sprockets like you said they should or did I not see it right? Did it run okay?

    If I remember right, the motor I was using in this video was one I had pulled out and replaced because it was blown up when I bought the car so I couldn't get one of the cams to turn where it needed to be. The dots should line up(they may be off just a hair), but get them as close as possible. I've done 3 of these engines this way. All are still going strong. The one I drive daily has almost 100k on it since I've done the chain.

    Reed Racing just got it timed up. Now time to put the rest on and see how it goes

    Reed Racing I got it timed. How loose was your chain with the tensioner out. I want to rotate the engine 4 times to make sure I did it right.

    @@dannye4562 with the tensioner out, it will be super loose. Should be pretty tight with the tensioner in it.

    Yes. But there is very little room and getting the timing cover off and on without damage in that space is very difficult
