I'll be revisiting this video about one week from today. My mace bell should be here by then. Most simple, direct, clean instructional video on this topic that I've found on YT and there are a bunch of them. Thanks for what you do. Liked and Subscribed. I'll look into Mind Pump TV a bit later.

If you really want to learn Indian clubs, Gada (mace), Magda, etc. you should watch The Flowing Dutchman. Not only does he teach you proper technique, he pays respect to its origin and shows the original people doing the exercise and various techniques from swinging the gada either over head or over shoulder & which hand should be on top or bottom.

My Mace came in yesterday. never thought 15 lbs would make me feel like a bitch. This mace immediately made me realize how weak I am even with all the lifting and cardio I do.

Lifting isn’t functional muscle, it’s just mass, do some strength training and such if you want to be better at this kind of stuff

I'm 5'7. 6kgs for me. It's heavy as SHIT. i did NOT expect it to be that tough. I cannot yet do the shoulder rotation, my shoulders simply are yet to weak. So i'm gonna try rocking for a solid minute for 5 times. Hopefully in a few weeks it'll be enough to do my first rotation.

@Drekken Hutchinson It's great! I'm not sure why but my shoulder is still iffy. I am not building much mass but i am DEFINITELY getting more definition and strength in my arms. can now do 10 rotations!! still the same weight but 10 reps, 3 sets. So that's MASSIVE improvement. Plus can hold the bar much lower. Right now i'm struggling because my neck is LONNNNG and my head is big. So i keep bumping it against the back of my head.

When you are bringing the mace bell from back to front over your shoulder, do you bounce it off your shoulder or is it all wrist strength to bring it back over? I’m feeling wrist pain when I try bringing it back, even with lighter weight so either form is wrong and/or I have weak wrists. Can anyone chime in productively on this?

My biggest question is about the weight it says 5 lbs is the head alone 5lbs or is the entire bar that weight? With the head ?

I’ve seen other mace bell videos that state that the top hand-pointer finger indicates the direction of the swing. At the begin of the video you did the opposite. When you did the flowing 360 you went in the conventional direction of the upper pointer finger. Question. Does it really matter?
