Yeah, super excited for this one. It's an issue a lot of people come to me about, which one do I need? When buying a mace, macebell, steel mace there are quite a few things to consider. What weight? What size? What length? What diameter? Which design? What price point? These I will discuss in this video hoping to give you a little more insight into the world of the mace. A 8lb sledge hammer with hickory handle and wrap the end with some hockey gip tape for a pommel. Not elegant but a inexpensive start. Love your travel videos.

Just bought a 8lbs Fiskar sledgehammer to swing. It has a forged head on it with a wedge side and a hammer side. Not traditional but looks pretty cool.
Good Information to buy the low weight mace for beginning.

I am considering buying a 10lb macebell to get started. Looking at something with a 33mm wide handle. I have some weight plates for dumbbells with a 50mm hole. Is it possible to fit the plates and keep them in place with a barbell lock instead of having to acquire a mace collection?

I made a video about this recently, search for adjustable mace on my channel :). Haven't tried the cadi club yet.

@@TheFlowingDutchman thanks! it's hard to buy one in my country and it's quite expensive so i'm thinking of buying a shot put ball and weld it on an iron pipe. So I guess will be getting a 2 or 3 kg "tip" to make my first 4kg mace

Hey Jonathon, i've always enjoyed the Onnit one. Yes, like I said in the video most of them will. It will not inhibit your swinging though ;).
About your commits on steel vs wood; my sifu taught never to touch mental with your bare hands. Said that it steals your chi.

Shipping is extremely expensive, and adjustable maces are a bit different from regular ones. I’ve got videos up for adjustable maces from Europe if you’d be interested. I share about pros and cons there too.
