The way I was taught, "uu", was to say Dutch, "ie" with the mouth (lips), "rounded."

Your language videos are awesome!!!! Just came here from the one you did on pronouncing the R sound. For the uu sound, one easy way to learn to pronounce it is to say the English "ee" sound (or i or ie) and then simply round your lips. (Also works for e > oe).

Wonderful video, Is the uu dutch sound the same as the french u sound? Or at least would it be almost imperceptible if I pronounced it like that?. Thanks

Even though it's a vowel sound and w isn't, uu feels very similar to w. What is the main difference between these?

The w is mostly formed with your lips and the uu is a very abdominal sound. You should be feeling it in your stomach, while the w is in a very different place. Hope this helps =)

Hi, I'm been learning Dutch on duolingo, and i saw a video about it saying that duolingo is not good for actually learning the language. I've been using it for only 3 months, should i just use another resource to learn or do duolingo less and do other things more?

Duolingo is fine as an additional tool, but I'd make sure to also practice pronunciation and grammar separately. Check out my video "5 tips for learning any language by yourself" for more resources
