    Keep in mind Screen printing the image she did would be labor intensive for small runs.. This job can be done and paid for before the art could be separated much less burn all the screens to screen print it. DTG is very good at doing full color and small to moderate sized jobs. These tend to be higher profit jobs do to the lower qty. For us we are able to have a large selection of stock designs that we can print on demand for wholesale customers allowing them to order restocks and take custom garment color orders without setup fees etc. You want to add a name to a shirt? Open the job in Garment Creator (Epson's included software) and type name and print. Have a rush order with 24 adults shirt and 4 toddlers.. No problem just run the adults then change to the smaller platen, resize the adult print for the toddler in the software and hit print... No other setup required.. In our production one person can pretreat, print and fold so after you dry the last shirt just fold it and job done. Also keep in mind as you grow one operator could pretreat then fold while another could run 4-5 printers at once all doing different prints if needed. You can also update to conveyer dryers instead of presses as you grow... Like always it all about your market and level of comfort and available time to learn a new craft. That being said all printing methods require allot of learning to really get your systems dialed in. If you are new make sure you have the time to make the sales and learn the printing vs making the sales and outsource your printing. (as with all printing the equipment is only part of it. The process of printing is an ongoing lesson that require constant evaluation and improvements.) *Always get samples of DTG printers work before committing on a contract printer... DTG has a very defined place as does screen printing... We started DTG about 3 years ago and purchased from Mylaya at ITSupplies. We could not have been more pleased with the service and commitment from them!

    How does the ink/surface of the printed artwork feel to the touch? I always prefer the "soft feel" style where you can barely feel the artwork on the t-shirt. Can this printer print "soft feel" or is the artwork going to feel thick and plasticy like an an iron transfer? Thanks!

  • @ITSuppliesINC

    It depends on what is used to cure the garment. If you use a Teflon sheet, it can give a sheen and feel more like screen print. If you use a silicone parchment sheet for curing, it would feel soft to the touch with the accurate time, curing heat temperature and pressure. The pressure you use when curing can also impact the feel - tunnel dryer with no touch, or heavy pressure when using a clamshell type press. If you have any questions give us a call 1-800-771-9665 and ask for a DTG representative!

    Thank you for your comment, Jesse. Yes, you can use a conveyor dryer as opposed to a heat press. The conveyor must be forced air and capable of curing DTG inks. The hand on the shirt will be different, however, because the conveyor dryer will not press down the fibers and embed the ink.

You can check to see if they are on the epson.com website. There's a high res photo on the white ink if you check out our website linked below, the cartridge will look like this. Epson's stock photo does have WH in large block text and EPSON in block lettering at the top of the cartridge. I'm having big, annoying problems with this printer. Almost every time I put a t-shirt in it, it breaks off the print and reports the error "An obstacle is in the way" (just in German). I have 3 different plate sizes so it's not that, I always change them for bigger or smaller shirts. When I start printing it breaks off 5-10 times and I try to fix the shirt, adjust it, pull here and there until the printer finally prints. What could be the reason for that?

    Question should we turn off the printer or leave it on if we’re not printing daily ?

  • @ITSuppliesINC

    @ITSuppliesINC

    Жыл бұрын

    Hi Rise Gaming, thank you for your question. You shouldn’t keep turning a printer on and off because it: Negatively affects the inner workings of the print system - creating more opportunities for malfunction. Increases the likelihood of having to clean (or replace) the print heads sooner rather than later. Wastes ink because each time you start up your printer, the print heads are forced to run through their complete cycle in preparation for printing. It’s generally a good idea to leave your printer on, even when you have no intention of printing. Shut your printer on and off frequently, and you end up mucking up the print system-which you’ll have to clean, wasting ink in the process.

    @@ITSuppliesINC even if we don’t use it everyday? Would it not clog the print head ?

  • @ITSuppliesINC

    @ITSuppliesINC

    Жыл бұрын

    @@KtuluLeaderRise Hi Rise Gaming, to keep your printer lasting longer, we recommend leaving your printer on. If it is off for a long period of time or if you turn it on and off again regularly, the printhead inside the printer will dry out faster. When you leave it on, you may hear the printer start up every once in a while and begin to calibrate. For healthier print heads and more efficient ink consumption, it's better to leave your printer on. Most printers have a “sleep mode” function that kicks in after the printer has been idle for about 15 minutes, which helps conserve power. If you do need to turn your printer off, make sure to shut it down properly using the power button on the front of the machine. Clear out any pending print jobs from your printer queue and check that the cartridges have returned to their resting position inside the printer prior to shut down. If you unplug the printer from the wall and it hasn’t been shut down properly, you could permanently damage your machine.

  • @ITSuppliesINC

    @ITSuppliesINC

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hi Wendi, Thanks for your comment. The shirt is being pretreated with a machine called the Lawson AE Zoom www.itsupplies.com/Lawson-Zoom-AE-1620-Pretreatment-Sprayer-p/715-330-2e.htm & Epson pretreat solution www.itsupplies.com/Epson-Garment-Pretreatment-Fluid-C13T43R100-p/c13t43r100.htm The reason this is done is to give the white ink something to attach to in the printing process. For example, if you are trying to print yellow on a black shirt, you won't be able to see it. But if you lay down a layer of white ink and then lay down yellow, you will be able to see how beautiful and vibrant the yellow is. Let us know if you have any additional questions. We'd be happy to assist you.

    Hi Dimitris, thank you for your question. Pressing prior to pretreat is for laying down the fibers of the shirt. You can do this with medium pressure for a couple seconds to iron out the shirt. We then follow EPSON's recommendations of 45-90 sec at a PSI of 9 for drying pretreat. You want to be sure the garment is totally dry prior to printing.
