The first tip is to set up your workspace in a way where you can streamline the printing process. So your pretreatment area should be near the heat press and your DTG printer. This is so you don’t have to be moving around too much around your workspace. Doing this will save you valuable time, which you can use to print more shirts.
Our next tip is to buy pretreated shirts from a wholesaler if you don’t have time to pretreat them yourself. The third tip is to buy another heat press if you plan on pretreating your own shirts. It only takes a few seconds to pretreat the shirt and just a minute to cure it on the heat press. With two presses, you can pretreat more shirts in a specific time span than with just one.
The most important advice we can give you is to make sure your DTG printer is always running and that you are always doing something. If the you or the printer are ever idle, then that means you’re being inefficient. Having your DTG idle is sign that there is a problem with your workflow, or you aren’t producing pretreated shirts fast enough to feed into the printer. If you find moments where you have nothing to do, that might be an indication to invest in more machinery. If you had more machines, you could use your idle time to create more DTG printed shirts-and make more money!
Another indication you may need more DTG printers is if you are pretreating more shirts than you are able to print. This results in pretreated shirts piling up as you wait for the printer to finish. If you had more printers, you could be printing multiple shirts at once instead of printing one shirt at a time.
Next, try to get a heat press with an auto-open feature. Having this feature can lead to increased productivity because you can multitask without worrying that your heat press is going to ruin your shirt by overheating.
You’ll also want to get a heat press with a slide-out tray. When you are trying to pump out orders quickly, safety may not be the first thing on your mind. The slide-out tray is a safety feature that keeps your hands away from the hot plate, allowing you to heat press faster than if you didn’t have this safety feature.
And finally, when creating a design for your shirts, have lots of negative space that is the same color as the shirt. Doing this will not only save you on ink costs, but it will help to make the shirt feel nicer to wear and more breathable. Printing less ink on the shirt also saves you time on the heat press because the less ink you use, the less time it needs to cure.

    We just got the Ricoh ri2000!!! Having fun but learning and fixing struggles… Pretreatment has been our biggest battle!! When you treat as you go,what are your press settings to get out completely dry? Suggestions for helping paper wrinkles from the cover page. We have continually collected a lot of moisture in the cracks of the heat press that build up on the sides of the shirt. We tried to hang dry and just prepress before print, but it seems to not dry very even or something and prints are semi dull

    You might be using too much pre-treatment on your garments, try these steps and congrats on taking this big step! 1. Lay a protective sheet paper onto your fabric so that the sprayed area won’t come in direct contact with the hot surface. This type of paper gives best uniformity in drying and enables better evaporation of volatiles. These sheets should only be used once per garment and then should be disposed. This avoids build-up of residue on the sheets which can lead to staining or discoloration. 2. Proceed to press the fabric in the temperature and time that is suggested to each corresponding liquid. Use a high pressure setting, so the fibers of the garment could be laid down. 3. If the fabric is still wet, re-press it for a few more seconds until it is dry. This means you have either applied too much pretreatment or your heat press in not properly removing the excess moisture.

    get an auto pretreater. don't start with the prehistoric gun method. Trust me we've printed well over 100k shirts and it's better to start with an auto pretreater. There are several out there, just do some research. For somone that has over 80k subscribers, I'm surprised Ricoma Embroidery Machines is using a handheld manual sprayer pretreater. Get the learning curve out of the way while you're just beginning, so when you do big orders of 100-500 shirt orders you will be more experienced and a pro at pretreating. Pretreat is the foundation in DTG printing. Not all pretreats are equal, just like not all shirts are equal. It will take time and research to find what works best.

    Isn't there going to variables in printing if you're individually loading a single shirt manually? I can't imagine these machines are worth the price with variance in quality. It's possible I don't fully understand the DTG process. Just seems like having a manufacturer print for you would equate to higher consistency and quality

  • @ricomatv

    @ricomatv

    2 жыл бұрын

    The manufacturer would have to go through the same process. Printing consistency does depend on your design positioning but those that do this for a living, along with the right tools, can definitely get it done consistently

    @@ricomatv Hi. Yes I have as well as terms and services. There is no actual price for the products only possible monthly payments. Replies have stated it varies....which is not understandable and evasive. Product cost should not change (even with financing), but varied payment methods and plans should.

    Can wait to get both of my machines back up the issue that occurred with mine was that I didn’t understand graphics so I sat down one day and decided I was going to take a month to learn graphics and my head got clogged so bad that they were damaged beyond repair. What does pretreated mean

  • @ricomatv

    @ricomatv

    Ай бұрын

    Pre-Treament reffers to a spray that is applied to the garment before you print on it. It acts like a primer to help the ink stick to the garment. Without it, the ink will not stick to the garment, and just wash off.

  • @DesignCutters
    @DesignCutters2 жыл бұрын

    On the other hand, having a backlog of pre-treated shirts might just mean your printer is way too slow.

    The ink tank system appears to be much better than the cartridge system kzread.infoUgkxciSwynMJ7PnUvvx11rewiu-yFBkZTl53 and a lot cheaper to run. The machine was easy to set up. A small point but I thought they'd be a USB cable included to help with the set up but there was none. I've been using it now for a few weeks and it seems like a good product and superior to my previous printers which were all troublesome HP machines.
