Now it's time for their artillery counterparts to take their turn in the spotlight. This video demonstrates their gameplay features, taking Tier X ships (both researchable and those available for in-game resources) as an example. However, most of our advice and recommendations are relevant to artillery destroyers of lower tiers as well.

I like how they say that you can protect yourself from airplanes by improving your AA, although that does absolutely nothing to deter an attack from planes.

I usually save that for cruisers I plan to keep near battleships, carriers, destroyer groups.

Great to see you producing these how to play series! Wish they would have been around when i started the game. a couple years ago, I even made a how to live longer & have greater impact in DD's 2 pt series to help new DD players. Keep adding to this series WG !

When can we upload our third episode of 'How to Play Destroyers' with Balanced features like the American ones? Experiencing a bit of bottleneck here since tier VIII so would be awesome if there are some teaching videos in this series. Thanks!

Putting Khabarovsk and manouverability in the same sentence takes courage ... especially when you compare it to Marceau in the same "class" ... not talking about the AA comments ... those are straight from the insanity side of the barricade .... Oh and the most hilarious moment showing an F.Sherman fighting a Smolensk while actually being killed by the real bane, Venezia (or cruiser SAP if you will).

You guys forget Kitakaze, Aki and Asashio in their unique commander Y.Isoruku. Kraken will bring the lost HP back. I had this amazing skill activated during almost lost battles and saved the game!

I'm surprised okhotnik wasn't considered a gun boat considering her torps max range is 4.5m but the cannons are good up to 10m so you use the cannons for luring in targets then obliterate them with the 12 Torps that have 66knt speed you can take out destroyers and cruisers with only 1 salvo of torps and 2-3 for battleships so in 1 pass you could take out 4 cruisers or in 1 pass 2 battleships

how do you know if your destroyers are artillery or torpedo destroyers?

look at the technologies branches and the design of the destroyer, also the description. for example for japanese branches we had Shimakaze l who the lead ship of the torpedo destroyer and Hagurumo who is the lead ship of artillery destroyers

@@Erkille7 yes, but that can be very confusing, especially for IJN as Shiratsuyu is really torp boat, while her counterpart is a gun boat.

If the DD has a speed boost, or weak torpeodos, its most likely an artillery

@@Erkille7 you can actually hover your cursor to the little "i" icon on top of the lines of ships, it can basically highlight their main features, Shiratsuyu is a tier 7 torp destroyer, whilst the tier 8 to 10 of that same line is basically an artillery destroyer with very high fire rate and low concealment

i can't find no ship from what shown in the video in my shiptree ???

Why does it look like the destroyers auto aim on targets. There is several parts in the video where the player aims somewhere different but keeps hitting the target completely fine on the move.

Is this what the military means by "counter-battery fire"? Given that I could not receive a driver's license for my vision, my service career was stillborn. Even the recruiters made jokes. 😄 Marine: "Well, we're not training you to shoot a gun!" 😃 Army: "We're not training you to drive a tank." USAF: "We're not training you to fly a jet!"

Can you give some examples of these ships at lower tiers?

Oftentimes is the caliber of the gun with some exceptions. Its a hard question to answer since destroyers are on a sort of spectrum, with some being "hybrid" destroyers somewhere in the middle. If the DD has a comfortable window to fire torpedoes without being spotted, its safe to say its a torpedo boat. If it has a giant window that its spotted before its in torpedo range, chances are its a gunboat/ artillery destroyer.

Those Italian dds are horrible.Remake is advised.The tier 9 of this line is a disaster, I play this game for 3 years, I have never give this kind of comment to a single ship before.

They just need faster and harder-hit torps as Yolo Emilio and they would be sort of fun to play but no, give them slow ass and soft-hit torps and short not-so-rapid firing guns. Best idea ever, Dio sanguinaccio!

There are also the hybrid DDs, like Daring, Gearing, Hayate, Vampire, Z-52, Grozovoi.

Smaland is good for hunting DDs, that's all. No smoke, low speed, low HP pool, cruiser easy to kill them

Look at the reload time of both guns and torpedoes, and look at the amount of these arnaments. Harugumo has 1 set of Torpedoes every 3 minutes, and 5 guns with a reload of 3 seconds, making it a very obvious artillery destroyer.

...Advertising is an ad above it. You try to make difficult content sound like easy. In spite of the fact that playing is not as you say, it is less than 50%.
