BY SPECIAL REQUEST! Here's How To Place Text Behind An Image In Photoshop. This was requested because I use this technique a lot in my thumbnails on KZread. Let me know if you have any other topics you'd like me to cover!
Also, I am, by no means, a photoshop expert... but I have a few tricks up my sleeve that I think are useful for people and someone specifically asked for this video.

Hey Dunna, this is great! I definitely learned some things. The way I have always approached doing this was to select the object (you) and then copy it on a new layer that is in the foreground. So there would be 3 layers total. Bottom - backgroung (original image), Middle - Text, and Top - Object. This way you can still move the text around and not affect anything else. Thanks!
DUDE THANK YOU SO MUCH I FINALLY DID IT! I have a project for school and I kept trying other tutorials but I didn't quite get it, and it got frustrating. However, you actually were so helpful and I really appreciate it!
Awesome time saving tutorial! I’ve always used the mask route and never knew about the select subject. Thanks Dunna!

Nice Job❤✔✔
Great video I’ve just stated using ps because I want to put text behind objects this really helped 👍🏼
Using PS 2021, and Subject Selection has improved quite a bit FYI. Soooooo much easier to get a selection started, especially if there is decent contrast between the subject and the background. Thanks for the video! :-)

Yeah it's not bad! Like I said, the "select subject" isn't always perfect but it helps a lot!
Dang I have been doing this the hard way! Just been using the eraser on the text once I have it where I want to go. That Subject select seems awesome. I also always forget about content aware feature. I am such a photoshop newb. Cool tutorial.

I can’t drag content / sample into my playlist on Mac? Anyone know how to fix
Heya, can someone help me with a persistant issue i'm having? Whenever I follow the exact route and press mask on the text, the text OUTSIDE the subject gets removed instead of the text overlapping inside the subject. I checked and the mask slowed my object being white and background being black, is there any way I can solve this?
Mr. Duuna! GREAT video...Quick question...a while back you did a video on improving audio...you used a Zoom recorder...but since, in your Gear List, you are now using a Roland recorder....have you switched? is the Roland Superior?
@dunnadidit
4 жыл бұрын
Not necessarily! I like the form factor of the Roland more for tossing in my backpack. But I also have the zoom h4n because it has xlr inputs and that’s super handy!
so interesting watching your editing process! I personally use Canva 😁 there's a feature that let's you erase the background so I just layer to pictures over each other and sandwich the text in between haha
@dunnadidit
4 жыл бұрын
That's awesome! I used to do it similarly by cutting out the subject and pasting it to the top layer on top of the text and background layers. It's actually a similar process to the way I do it now, just whether you'e masking the text or the subject lol.
😍😍😍

just a quick question, does it work well with if there's a lot of hair going on in the picture ? 😂
@dunnadidit
4 жыл бұрын
Hair is definitely the toughest part. Once you've got your selection, if you select the marquee or lasso tool, you can click "Select and Mask" at the top and it will give you some extra tools to refine the selection.
I’ve done this the hard way for so long
