There is so much to learn in Photoshop but you really make it easy to follow. please let me explain why I wanted to learn, We lost my nephew this past July in a car wreck He was 26 yrs old. I wanted to get some shirts made in honor of him for my sister but everything I saw I didnt like it. I didnt want the simple wings behind him. (Its just my personal preference) and I couldnt explain what I exactly wanted to anybody. So I decided to buy this MacBook Pro and photoshop and learn on my own. I didnt realize Photoshop has came a long way since I was last introduced to it. Well, I found your channel. I wanted to let you know that you are easy to learn from. Its a blessing! Some people may be Professionals with working with photoshop but unfortunately can not teach others their skills. But, you can. I wanted to truly thank you for your lessons. These lessons have allowed me to create graduation photos for my niece with my nephew looking on and also I am now creating an outfit for us to wear in his honor. I really appreciate you and your channel. Thank you so much

In order for the text to float you need to make sure in the Move Tool options that Layer is selected and not group. FYI. Took me a few minutes to figure that out. Hope it helps others.

There are often multiple ways to get the required result in Photoshop. Hiding part of a composited element behind an existing foreground detail is a good way to make the introduced element look like it is part of the image. It also gives it depth. So my approach is to select and copy those foreground elements and move them to the top of the layer stack.

I just want the text not the background. I cant seem to find a video of that. If I do it's all complicated and discouraging.

*I like these videos on using Photoshop, but, man!... Photoshop is such a sophisticated software. I'm not stating the obvious. I guarantee you that a vast majority of people (even those who agree that Photoshop is a great software) don't really realize the extent of the sophistication. Photoshop is so complex and it has been refined for decades. Plus, it's now pretty much a cash cow for Adobe.*
