How to paint with a Waterbrush

The waterbrush is an amazing little tool that revolutionized the way I paint, sketch, and journal. They make the logistics of watercolor, watercolor pencils, water-soluble pencils, or water-soluble pen washes easier in the field.
In this class, you will explore watercolor techniques that will help you quickly add color and value to your sketches. learn how to make a waterbrush graded wash, use soluble pens and pencils for fast value studies. Learn to wrangle watercolor pencils. And learn how to use the Kuretake Fude flat brush to get easy and beautiful effects.

Thank your for such an excellent video! So much helpful info! I have had the Niji/Kuretake 2-in-1 flat waterbrush for years and never knew about the third option of twisting the ferrule to get the squirrel tail tip for texture! 🤯🤯🤯 Thank you, thank you for making these workshop videos public. Someday, I would love to attend in person! 🤗💛

Get out of town that wrist sock. Genius. I use them when I wash my face so water doesn’t wet my sleeves but didn’t even think about this. I am waiting for your book to arrive at my door. Can’t wait to start my birds! I love my pentel aqua brush.

Great tutorial. Nice point with the idea of having colours that can go to darker values, I haven’t thought about that but makes perfect sense. Your value workshop video is the next in my list !

Enjoyed this very much -- my first venture into the waterbrush usage; recently purchased both water brushes but was in a fog as to usage. This video catapults me beyond effort I would otherwise need before I understanding proper technique.

To add 'kick' to the shadow bunny I would have used more of a purple hue..same value..purple, green and orange are a dynamite threesome!! warm sunlight generally means cool shadows.

I haven't seen very many of those bluejays lately. I use to see them a lot at Dominican Unversity in the late 1990s. They yell very loudly.
