Shame is a very powerful emotion that leaves people feeling terrible about themselves.
The key to overcoming shame is to confide in a compassionate individual regarding what you feel shameful about. You’re shame will evaporate when you realise the individual doesn’t judge you anywhere as harshly as you judge yourself.
