    This is easily the most valuable video I’ve seen in quite some time!!! I just recently realized just how much money there was to make in this sector of the industry (plumbing) and ooooooh buddy!!! I had no clue. Just bought my first hydro jetter (General Pipe JM 1450) today...and am already looking to buy a trailered unit!!!! Thanks so much for this video...it is much appreciated!!!

    Dumb question: why do people still use drum snakes if hydro jetting seems to work better. I know there is a premium cost to hydrojetting vs snake but can a person only do hydrojetting. It seems better all around. Can I learn to run a camera and hydro just as fast as drum auger?

  • @josephcunningham559

    @josephcunningham559

    3 жыл бұрын

    Jonathan West no you need a snake machine. It is difficult to use a hydro jetter on smaller drains. Also sometimes you have to unclog drains when people have carpets or overhead clean outs and you can not use a jetter for fear of flooding somebody’s finished basement or other rooms

    Yes you have to make money for providing a service but overcharging is a quick way to never get business from customers like me I am the customer who gets on the phone & calls other companies to price shop no I do t go with the cheapest company because I want it done correct but doing a good job at a reasonable price is well appreciated & respected & you will get word of moth referrals & repeat service if you don’t try & drain out the pockets of everyday 9-5 working middle class people. I had a company try & charge me 3000 for new field lines when I didn’t need new field lines lucky for me I called a friend who got it done for 800 .. it’s really sad & sick how some companies pray on homeowners in need..

  • @josephcunningham559

    @josephcunningham559

    5 жыл бұрын

    where do you live No, If you plan on making money, you have to be able to jet grease and roots out of a sewer pipe. A small jetter is not going to be sufficient. Purchase the brute 9gpm/4000 psi jetter from northwest jetters and put it in your van. The elements are going to destroy your equipment do not leave it out in the weather. Also consider winter, that jetter is your bread and butter. Protect it, give it a nice warm garage to sleep in at night. You can anti freeze it every day. If you forget one time you can seriously damage the pump. One more thing, GET THE REMOTE! yes it is an extra 3,000 dollars, but you will be kicking yourself in the ARSE the first day you realize how much easier the job is with one. Don't do what I DID! Good Luck

    In most cities to open a drain cleaning business you only need a basic business license and if you are a unlicensed plumber you can do just about anything without the inspector knowing the home owner can pull a home owners permit for single family homes if you need permits.
